Never charge a phone more than it should be (until battery is full).This thing with "formating" the battery is bulls*it.Just charge it till battery is full and there you go.I always charge my new phones just till battery is full and never had a problem.
What u want to do is very bad to your battery.If u do that very often (charging like 12-24h) u risck to damage your phone and battery.

Bye

here's what the people who invented Li-Ion batterys have to say:

Tips for making Li-Ion batteries last longer:

Unlike nickel based rechargeable batteries (NiCd and NiMH), Li-Ion batteries should be charged after each use and very often. Never allow them to discharge completely before recharging. However, if they are not used for a longer time, they should be brought to a charge level of around 40%.

Li-Ion batteries should be kept cool. Ideally they are stored in a refrigerator. However, they should not freeze. At higher temperatures they age quicker. Storing them in a hot car or subjecting them to high temperatures even for short periods can kill them immediately. (Bad news for hot laptop owners.)

Buy Li-Ion batteries only when they are needed. Don't buy a spare battery for future use when you purchase a new notebook, cell phone, or camera for example. Always look at the manufacturing date. If they don't provide one don't buy it! This is because Li-Ion battery's life cycles are almost completely dependent upon its age from the time of manufacture, regardless if it has been charged or not. In fact, Li-Ion batteries irreversibly lose at least approximately 20% of their capacity per year from the time they are manufactured. I've also discovered that this figure is dependent on its stored temperature; 6% at 0 degrees centigrade, 20% at 25 degrees centigrade, 35% at 40 degrees centigrade. When stored at 40% charge level, these figures are reduced to 2%, 4%, 15% at 0, 25 and 40 degrees centigrade respectively.

When using a notebook computer running from AC power over extended periods, it is advisable to remove the battery and store it in a cool place.

Every (deep) discharge cycle decreases their capacity. The degradation is sloped in such a way that 100 cycles leave the battery with about 75% to 85% of the original. When used in notebook computers or cellular phones, this rate of deterioration means that even in short as one year the battery could have capacities that are too low to be still usable.

No discharge required; Can be recharged in any condition;
Almost 40% more power and 50% lighter than standard NP NiCd;
No memory effect;
Environmentally friendly

So I guess you can charge it jus the way you like...
it does not matter that much

I don't recommend you overcharge your battery, jst let it charge till it is full, and then take it off the power source..
Cheers

All ur views are in SUCH contrast.MAN!!!
I dont know whom to listen to..

I read on this huge cellfone battery site that EVEN if ur battery is LI Ion charge it atleast THRICE for 24 hours each n then let it drain completely...
After and ONLY after this routine may u charge it as often as u like .
It will have zero memory effect

But for initial use....charge it for 24 hours.......and then discharge.....ATLEAST thrice..

What do I do?

The charge process of modern equipment is controlled by fairly advanced electronics. Therefore the users of this equipmet just have to plug it in and wait until it's fully charged.

And trust me, a battery can't be more than fully charged!
It's not like if you leave it for 2 more hours you can use it longer...
But when you leave the phone pluged in and the charge level drops below a predifined level the charge proces starts again.

Conclution: The effect on the battery shoud be almost identical if you leave it to charge for 2h or 24h.

dun tell me till now u haven charged ur fone....

juz plug it in for a day, it wun get spoiled eh.

and only charge it when its 1/2 bars left, best if u wait for batt flat.
