View Full Version : 3650 Speaker specifications?

I'm trying to make the best sounding digital ringtones for my 3650 (save mp3's from CD....sample songs....send to phone using PC Suite with auto converters turned on...etc)

The end result is always overly quiet, and often quite hissy....plus the songs I use tend to have a fairly heavy baseline in the original which probably adds to the distortion.

I expect that if I could tailor the file to the phone by limiting it to frequency ranges that the phones handsfree speaker can support it would sound better....but the problem is that I can't faind those specs anywhere.

Does anyone have any idea what they are....or have any handy tips for improving the sound quality?

try using goldwave. you can increase the volume of the songs from like 10% right upto 500%. (use v4.27 i think it is, the v5.xx is pretty crap)

Do u even KNOW what he's talkin about??
He wants to cut off frequencies that produce noise n disharmony.
NOT specifically increase da volume.....

id advise u against doing tt! warr will b gone, and u risk spoiling ur fone!

wat he wants, is the bit rate of the wav/mp3 (i tink).

How much harder is it to hit the two keys in between that?

If you can touch type it's hardly any more effort.

Just reading this through about 3650 speaker... made me think about mine. Not sure how to describe this but when you play mp3s the sound is very carrying, possibly due to the salt? speaker of the phone. If you have mp3s on loud then the sound is tinny and irritating because it is carrying into your ear.

Is this what you meant by disharmonic? :S

I'd hardly call myself an experienced symbian user...I just like to play with the wierd features......that and the composer has crashed on start ever since I first go the thing, so I had to turn somewhere.

Anyway, thanks for the ideas, I'll keep looking (and fiddling) around and see what I can come up with.

I think what this guy is trying to figure out is the frequency band of the speakers. What the speakers are rated for output without creating distortion. For example X hz to Y mhz. Just like what any other speaker out there is rated for. Sorry I can't help you with this info, but if you do find better quality speakers for this phone, I'd appreciate a post stating where I can find them. I blew both speakers on my 3650, and I'm having a hell of a time finding replacements!!! :-?
