I'm with Jontykay on this- I haven't been able to find a description of how to unlock a 7600 with cables. I used the wrong unlock codes and now need to know where i can get the cables and software, and how I can do it. Can anyone help me?
Cheers,
PA

I've just noticed that some people say you need a dongle to do a cable unlock, rahter than just a cable. Can anyone give me a straight answer- can i unlock a 7600 with a serial cable?

If not, what kind of dongle do i need, and where can i get it?
Thanks,
PA

Simple answer no it is not possible to unlock a 7600 with a serial cable.

You need a DCT-4 f;asher box like a griffin or a twister.

You need a DCT-4 f;asher box like a griffin or a twister.I agree tha you cant unlock with just serial cable but not necessarily a flasher box as griffinbox doesnt flash then to unlock as its a service box that does flashing. so not all flashers unlock without flashing. :)

Name one DCT-4 service box flashes the phone to unlock it.

All the DCT-4 boxes that can unlock the 7600 do so without flashing the phone.

Yes but I talk in common terms. Its easier. But whats the point in being common? it might be easier but can also be misleading. I think the dejan dct3 flasher was refered to as a flasher box and I can vaguely remember another one, but you couldnt compare those flasher boxes to griffin or twister, but I do understand what you meant but not sure if a newbie would thats all :-P
