Help! My Symbian OS no longer works!

Hi, I just bought a Nokia 3660 and downloaded an application from a link on this site and tried to install an extended recorder. However, when I put it onto my phone, it didnt install completely and crashed my phone.

When I rebooted my phone, it no longer worked. I am getting system erros when trying to access menus. The only thing I can do is dial numbers and receive calls. No messaging, no other apps.

I'm really stressed out, can someone please give me some advice on what to do? I'm totally lost and feel so stupid for trying to install apps from unknown sites.

EDIT:

I took out the MMC, and it seems to be working. But I think it's still screwed somehow, because it the application list, it has the programs that were installed on the MMC, and when I try to remove the one that screwed up my phone, it obviously doesn't work. What can I do? Should I reformat the MMC or something? How?

Thank you!

I did what you said, with the pencil thingy, and now everything seems to be working. It was actually Powerlock program that stuffed it up, but thats working too now. Only problem so far is just all my links in the menu folders were brought back to the first menu screen. Hopefully that's all that's wrong with it.

It didn't even reformat the card though? It just started working all of a sudden? Why is that?

Again, thank you! I was sooo stressed there for a sec!

Damn!

I did not format, so when I restart the phone without holding down the pencil button I still get those errors. What does holding down the pencil button while turning on the phone actually do?

So, does this mean I have to reformat the MMC? Can I still save all the stuff that's on there?

Holding the Pencil key down bypasses some of the non-system applications that write them selves into the startup of the phone.. Kinda like the Safe Mode used with Windows OS's..

That problem became from a app called Wildskinz, when we install that program and enable we have to disable and then unistall because that program is the worst program that we can put on mobile.

Simple solution, if you just bought the handset, don't worry about formatting and all that..... take it back to your retailer and have it replaced. Within 14 days of purchase I know Vodafone will exchange..
