I have a 3650 that had firmware 2.50. I recently got it upgraded to 4.13. For a couple of days the phone worked ok. I didn't reformat any of the memory cards (16 and 128 mb). All the old apps were on and most worked.

Last night I changed som settings: tried to remove the stupid operator logo that shows up during boot, changed color scheme, and changed it so that movies are saved on the MMC. After that the phone was completely screwed. :-?

It wouldn't boot with any of the memory cards. I got the idea that it had something to do with saving movies on the MMC, so I changed that back. It helped for a little while but then the problems were back. I have formatted the phone too, started it without MMC or sim and so on.

It boots now with the small MMC, but I get the error "failed to register SIM card". That happens every time I call or just enter phone mode. With the 128 mb MMC it will only boot in safe mode and not every time. It's a real pain to boot the phone since it takes ages now.

Do you know what went wrong? Should I try to format my 128 mb card?

Ok thanks, but I don't think that is the problem. It happened with both cards at the same time.

Now I will try to back up everything on my 128 mb MMC and then erase it.

Damned strange! I changed "writing language" from Swedish to English in the settings, and the phone booted without problem (with the 128 mb card). The "failed to register SIM card" message was also gone. But when I turned it off and on again, it won't boot. It freezes at the Nokia logo, before the animation with the hands.

Now I will try to erase all data on the MMC.

Piece of crap Firmware! :-x

Now i have formatted the 128 mb MMC and the phone boots, except one time when it hanged. I installed Fexplorer and some games. Phantom Overdrive works, but the phone sounds like a machine gun when I run the game. :-? There are normal sounds in the game but also the terrible sound which is impossible to turn off.

Oh, why did I upgrade to this firmware? The strange sim-card error is still there.

I had a firmware for Vodafone. They replaced that with another one. The "sim-card registration failed" message was still there. I disovered strangely enough that the phone worked flawlessly with other SIM-cards. Strange since the error occured only after the firmware update.

The strange noises in games seem to be gone, even though this is the same firmware minus Vodaphone crap. I have to return the phone again though. They have given me a version with only English, German and French.
