Editing email addresses on 6600!

I own a 6600 and if I try to edit an e-mail address within Contacts I am unable to delete symbol such as @ _ - and .

Is anyone else having the same problem? I realise I could simply enter the new email address in full, but seems strange that I can't simply edit whilst out and about!?!

I have no problems whatsoever but my firmware is 3.49.1 maybe that's the solution.
