I got a new firmware for my 3650, but that had Vodafone Live installed. I returned the phone, and got a firmware without Vodafone. I do get a error message: SIM-card registration failed. Strangely enough it works perfectly with other SIM-cards.

The biggest problem is that I got a firmware with only English, French and German. I'm swedish so it's a problem for me with SMS, T9 and stuff. I e-mailed the service center about this, and they started to ask questions about where I bought the phone. Now they say the phone was locked to Vodafone, but has been unlocked (illegally). It can only be flashed with a Vodafone Live firmware.

So now I don't know what to do. Return it and get it flashed with Vodafone, although if I have a different SIM-card? Or is there a way to flash the phone myself with the right firmware?

itll be cheaper to buy a simfree 3650 than the equiptment needed to flash your 3650

Ok, I see. Then I'll have to get them to reflash it or live the the OS I've got.

I think you're getting confused between flashing and re-formating your celllphone.. I had the same problem with Vodafone over here, they installed a little program on my cellphone when i bought it from them.. But after giving my phone a celan format, it has gone, and i'm still able to use my phone on the vodafone network..
Cheers
