Can anyone recommend one with a 100 meter range?

um... if ur gonna use it for ur 6600 then theres not much of a point with 100m coz 6600 only has 10m...

I thought the Dongle sends out a signal 100m in radius, and any device in that area can pick it up regardless of their own limits

incorrect... the 100m one extends the range by a few meters and if you go out of range for a few minutes then back in it keeps connection whereas the 10m one drops connection immediately...

TDK, Belkin and Dlink brands are the go ...

cheers ;)

Why are they classed as 100m if they only better the 10m ones by a few meter's?

u can search for devices 100m away but u wont be able to send or recive files. a_dude, yes a connection may not drop out but file transfers will. when the dongle cant reach the device it will exit in an error saying the connection was lost. but anyways, why would u leave the 10m range? just leave the phone near the comp when u use bt

its the phone that has a 10m range thats the problem....look at it this way...

if u had another bluetooth dongle(100m) on another computer 100m away then they can share a LAN connection...

bluetooth isnt just for phones....

cheers ;)

Too late, I've ordered the MSI one, heard good reports about it, 70M through walls, so fingers crossed :)

Can anyone recommend one with a 100 meter range?

X-MICRO Blutooth USB DOngle. No problem for me, been using it for a month with my 6600 and P3/1Ghz PC on WinME. Oxygen for S60 works perfectly. But be sure to buy the X-MICRO with "Class 1" rating for 100 meter range, otherwise "class 2" will give you 10 meters only although it cheaper. It cost me 1,500 pesos (about US$26) for the 100 meter model.
