OMG! Nokia 7610

I saw this in a swedish mobile magasine..


Its the new series 60 phone, it haves 75 mb ram, mp3 , a megapixel cam, 65 000 pixel,

and the price will be around 500 euro... that mobile is going to be my next phone :D

whoa, the functions rock, and i tink tis fone is the upgrade of the 7600, lookin at the keypad, i cant help but feel it resembles the 7600.

video wif 4x zoom, up to 10 min! oh my, tis fone makes the rest of symbian fones look like a joke!

To bad I can't see the picture.. It seems to be corrupted or missing or sumtin'. I did a brief lookup on Google but can't seem to find a picture of it. The only thing I do see is the thumbnail on the "Phone Models" page. Can someone post a big pic of it?

It looks like a beauty as far as I can see it. The buttons do have a strange lay-out, kinda hard to operate I think. Ah well, every phone needs to get familiar in your hands when you just got it. The N-Gage was a new way to handle a phone for me to :)

You should always do some online research first!
It doesn't have 75mb ram (where did you get that idea??). It has 8mb internal memory (pretty much for a phone, N-Gage has 4mb) and it comes with a 64MB MMC (btw, what do they mean by "Reduced Size"?)
65 000 pixel? I think you're referring to the screen that has 65 536 colors!
If you got all this information from that magazine, you better start reading something else! ;) I bet the price won't be right either...

1 megapixel (1152 x 864 pixels) Thats NICE for an internal cam! 10 minutes video recording.. You'll be able to make your own movies soon.. :D

BlueTooth, USB, Tri-band, Instant Messaging, Wallet, Voice Features, True Tones, even comes with a Wrist strap! This baby has almost everything (no IR :(). Ya sure this will cost -,€500? More looks like 700-900 to me.. But then again, it depends what country you're in, right?

And If you ask me, It'll probably have a protection against N-Gage games.. Nokia should be realising there games are beeing downloaded to 6600 phones as well..

My conclusion: Very interesting phone! Great picture quality! The thrustworthy Series60 system! Lot's of features! but It'll probably cost a fortune! :D

That's not RAM, RAM usually has 400kb or something.

About the video..
I don't think so. Build in system apps are adjusted to the hardware of the phone. (Like you can't copy the N-Gage MP3 player to other series60 devices)

LOL :lol: This is confusing!
I just ment the following:

When you open FExplorer (http://users.skynet.be/domi/fexplorer.htm) you can see 4 drives:

C: -> the internal memory (3.997MB*)
D: -> the RAM (379.5KB*)
E: -> the MMC (122.104MB*)
and Z: -> the ROM (17.750MB*) (needed when you fckd up the phone :D)

*sizes are based on my N-Gage!

There won't be much special about I think. It's probably just a fancy name for a regular MMC.
And if not, It won't be compatible (at least.. I think it won't be) with the older Series60 devices (before the 7610)

Nokia has always been a bit hazy about there products. Take the N-Gage for example: noone really knows what maximum size of MMC it can handle. Some say 128mb, some say 256, some say 512, some even say 1Gig! (<liars :D)

I've read somewere that there will be adapter for these RS-MMC's so you can place them in a normal MMC device. I doubt that it will fit two them.

500 euro is a lot of money! If u have a 6600 that retailed for that price originally, u must be loaded like hell to afford spending another 500 euro. Besides, its just a phone. Why not get something a bit more advanced. A Archos Multimedia Jukebox, it comes with 30gb + and it can view DIVX it can become a camera/videocam and it can be connected to the TV. It costs LESS than the IPOD and it is one generation above, it pisses me off that people still buy the IPOD! Anyways, if u wanna buy a new phone try something experimental like the swedish created Neonode (http://www.neonode.com) and guess what? You even get to spend 20 euros more!

:D yeah awsome, perhaps some day we'll need a tweezers to handle them and there will fit about 10 of these baby's in the back of our phones.
10 times 128MB.. that's 1280MB dude! That would be about 40 hours of movies on one phone (in .rm format)! Think of the possibillities..

It's external sound output is via pop-port only (can't plug it into my car/home stereo..) even the 7650 had a normal jack for headphones.
It still has no radio despite many other pop port phones having one.
It takes rs-mmc which are so stupidly small you're gonna lose them (marketing ploy?).

The only nice thing about it is the camera.

Once again Nokia produce a slightly and annoyingly less than perfect phone. I'm really wondering whether my next phone is going to be a Nokia or not. I was seriously considering the 9500, despite the features it lacks, but now a lesser model has a better camera. Makes the 9500 look ancient already. Stupid. I'm getting really pissed off with Nokia.

You got a point there. But then again, they are not giving the phone a final conclusion like you did. You allready named it as "worst phone of the year" sort of speak..

Well yeah.. some of them are willing to rush in to a 'blind buy' because Nokia has a way of manipulating people to buy there products.. but.. That's what ever company does, right? ;)

Ok, it doesn't have a radio. Then buy a hands-free set with fm radio, that solves your car problem. (don't tell me it's not going to support a hands-free set, every phone supports that)

The strangest thing about this thread is that Wouwz first thinks of the phone as a god and after you posted that negative post he thinks of the phone as a pile of shit he just stepped in.. Did you hold a gun to his head or sumtin? :lol: what happened, wouwz?

I'm not trying to be competitive here so sorry if it looks like that. I'm just a perfectionist trying to figure it all out.. I'm not going to buy the phone anyway. I'm happy with my N-Gage. Next to that, I have a girlfriend whom I love with all my heart and that's all what I care about. I prefer her above all phones! :D
