View Full Version : 1 GB memory card tried and tested
The 1 GB Pretec MMC memory card has now finally been tested on an N-Gage, along with 256 MB and 512MB, and they have all passed the initial compatibility tests. Which is great news as we will all be able to get even more music and videos on our N-gages’.

Has it been tested on a Nokia 6600?
A 256MB MMC Card is now such a good price on Ebay AU. Makes me wonder why some people sell 32, 64 and 128MB MMC Cards.
One 512MB MMC Card has appeared on Ebay AU, and the price is reasonably ok. Less than double the price of the 256MB one.
But the 1024MB MMC Card! I dream of having this one. Could have so much movies, music, applications and games! But on www.expansys.com.au ... you can preorder it for over AUD$1000! Holy crap! How many phones can I buy with that money lol
Guess have to wait for competitors and the price decreases because very few people buy it :D

BTW do I need to upgrade the firmware to accept 256MB and up?
I've just bought a 256MB "Ridata" and it dun seem to work perfectly!
Now my PC dun see the MMC drive on my N-gage anymore (only with this card in!)
Think I'm gonna have to return it
ps. my current FW is 3.30
cheers.

if your in no hurry id wait a few months or so it'll eventually go down hehehe 256mb MMC is big already unless you dont have a pc , television and a vcd , vhs , dvd player at home and your cellphone is your only source of entertainment.

Hehehe, you should upgrade to a 128mb MMC minimum. You can get them fairly cheap nowadays. I don't know how you can fit stuff on a 16mb MMC...

Wow! Good news...
But I'll rather buy 2, 512Mb cards than 1, 1Gb card...because it's so small that anyone can miss placed it... (happened to me once... found it in the laundry room lol...)
By the way, it's safer to have 2 cards then one just in case anything might happen to one of them...
Cheers! :-P

I would rather buy a 512mb mem. card 4 $200.00+, cause a $1000.00 1gb mem. card is just 2 crazy 2 even phantom.
