Could you give me your recommendations for best cleaning fluids or combination fluids to use in ultrasonic baths (cleaning tanks) for cleaning circuit boards :smile:

Well...If U read the stickie on the top U will have idea..I personaly use a mix of alcohol 97%+gas /or paint cleaner/ 10 % of alcohol mililiters+a little acetonius...works for me in 90% of cases when repairing water dameged phones or removing oxidants..

Sergo_ZmeiaYes I did read the sticky above, yes I know about using meths but some say white spirit, and what you say has confused me even more as 97% + gas (i presume you mean fuel) / or paint cleaner (is that 3% mixed with the alcohol or just on its own?) / 10% of alcohol mililiters + a little acetonius? are all these mixed together if they are then its 117% if not the the last bit 10% plus a little ? still doesnt add up. please can anyone be more specific :sad:

Yes they are mixed together....fuel is closely..Hum i dont know the word but I personaly prefer paint cleaner..or hum how to explain this to U...Its a substance which must be aplied to the car paint before U paint the car..I hope U will understand what I mean..
100ml pure alcohol - its with97% concetration of alcohol
10ml paint cleaner
5ml acetonius
This is the proportion...

I think I understand now, is the stuff you talking about the dewaxer and degreaser uses to clean prior to painting car then again after primer before finish paint? :-?

My tested solution is using distilled water & fairy liquid (1 1/2 lts dist to 5 tablespoon fairyliquid)works ...after bath shake off water with hard downward motions.do in on a cardboard until water particles could hardly be seen coming off the PCB then heat the PCB slightly immediately putting it on a metal surface especially Nokia 33xx models they have parts only on one side...let it cool down 10 minutes put together and Voila... :-o

I think what sergio is trying to explain is celluose thinners rather than a dewaxer. As for using white spirit or paint remover- i would be dubious about that as white spirit has a tendancy to draw moisture in from the atmosphere if storred in a plastic bottle for any period of time.
Celluose thinners are ok- but becareful with 7210 etc as there is a plastic coated antennas switch that "melts" if left in this product for more than 2 mins!!
The Alpha 564 is ok- but takes too long to dry as it is a water based solvent- it costs rather alot too. and is a seriious marine pollutant so disposal becomes a nightmare.
Personally - i think meths is the best- it s cheap and readily available and drys very well.
Isoporopanol is good too- but really expensive and you have to watch your health.
As for the suggestion about distilled water and washing up liquid :-o
I personally would not even try that with a 5110! the make up of that solution will ruin all tracks and nestle under the chips far too much.

@fonedoctor & other replies
Thanks for advice
Ive come to the conclusion to start with washing up liquid in hot water then after drying useing meths or isopropyl alcohol, because although meths and IPA are degreasers they dont touch dried coffee or sticky coca cola for example so my reasoning is to remove water soluables and some of the greasys with the washing up liquid and then removing the rest of the greasys and water with the alcohol by giving long soak and shake about to remove residue of water under ics. :) seems to work ok
