If you look under the keymat, it's only 4 way, just like 3650 (and i guess 6600 as well).

The only difference is that the actual key can press down on two things at once.

A 6600 would have no chance of this as it's a joystick but the 3650 might as it's just like a d-pad? (but there's no 3650 compatible games that use 8 way?)

Or woudl it be possible to make a new attachment/joystick structure for 6600 to press down on more than one key?

It is part of the firmware. With the 3650 more than one button can't be pressed at the same time. I don about the 6600

Yeah, I don't think that the other phones support 2 buttons on the directional pad being used at the same time like that.

Couldn't someone with a 6600 take their cover off and try pressing two buttons at once on THPS or rayman or something?

(i don't know how the 6600 joystick works)

otherwise would be interesting to find an ngage game that works on 3650 and uses 8 way.

erm, i tink its both 4 way onli, juz like, when u prog the firmware, u press up, it goes up, and in ngage case, i tink it reads diag when u press 2 buttons together.

so i tink its in the firmware.

I'm sure the 6600 can accept two key presses at once.
It can definately accept me pushing right on the joystick and pressing a key to jump when I play SonicN.

I reckon that it's just a firmware problem. If someone changed the firmware to detect up/right etc being pressed on the stick they could then send the same output as the N-Gage uses.

Any firmware hackers out there who can try this out???

No, only happens if you've openeed another program, and then used the hold menu key to get back to it.

if you do, you have to make sure you go to 'goboyapp' not 'goboy.exe' otherwise it'll only recognise one keypress.
