Hello, I have a nokia 5510 cellphone and I have a nokia 3310 data cable that I use for logomanager. I tried to use the 3310 datacable for my 5510 but my nokia 5510 shuts off whenever I connect it to the data cable. I need help on this, do I need to interchange the rx and tx? How can I identify the rx and tx wires?? Thanks!

first, connect the data cable to your unit without connecting the ps2 connector, then power ON the phone, wait for it to have signal, open logomanager, then connect the ps2 connector to the cable. simple :)

@duron850ph, that cannot be, my 5510 shuts down even before the signal bars comes on. Although I tried what you said and that wasn't successful, another thing is that I am using a SERIAL NOKIA 3310 DATA CABLE not a PS2 Data Cable.

I am trying to use a nokia 3310 data cable for my 5510 to upload logos, ringtones and picture messages, unfortunately my 5510 shuts down even before the opening animation comes on. This is my 2nd nokia 5510 with the same problem...

Is there anything else I can do so I can use my nokia 3310 data cable to upload ringtone, logos and pic messages to my 5510? I read about covering the "top left contact point" in the back service port of the phone...the phone didn't shut down, but logomanager cannot find the phone. My 3310 data cable works perfectly fine, I use it to my nokia 3310 which I use for my business...

Do I need my phone to be flashed or upgraded? i heard about interchanging the rx and tx pins...the problem is, I cannot identify which is the rx pin and which is the tx pin...would this interchanging thing would allow me to use my 3310 data cable to upload logomanager to my 5510 phone?

My Audio cable works perfectly fine, I can easily upload songs to my phone with ease thanks to audiomanager and my audio cable...so thats no issue, I just need help with the data cable. Thanks!

for me, it works great, even my friends use my scheme for 5510 units. maybe, you need a new data cable like the one I'm using.

I bought a new data cable, and the problem is still there...however, if I use a flash cable, the phone works well...whats the difference between m and f bus cables?
