firmware for nokia 6600

i am having trouble with my 6600, nearly every app dont work which worked for my 7650 and even java games dont work. so i have been reading about firmware and have read that people have v4 and above, so i looked at my 6600 *#0000# and it said
v2.33.1

NHL-10
this cant be right my 7650 has v4.46.
is this why my phone is playing up.
what version firmware does other peoples 6600 have?
how much does it cost if i take it to a nokia care place to be upgraded.
any help would be greatly appreciated.

7650 firmware is completely different to 6600 firmware. The reason some apps don't work is cuz 6600 is simbian os7 which is newer than whats on the 7650 and 3650. Most developers have 2 versions, one for 7650/3650 and one for 6600. hope that helps.

just tried ngage games and they dont work either(tony hawks.blz,Tombraider.blz : :evil: , it says "out of memory". anyone else have this problem?
is this because of my version of firmware?
will it work if i get my firmware upgraded?
my firmware is 2.33.1 at the moment.
what version does it need to be?
please help.

regardless of firmware version, 6600 shld b able to play most ngage games.

tink u dun haf enough mem in ur fone (in tis case, mmc mem) to perform the installation. check tt u haf twice the space left in mmc to install the game, for example, thps, u need about 30 mb space to install, since its ard 15 mb.

For the 6600 the latest firmware is 4.09.10
For 7650 is the 5.06

Lot of us have the 4.09, because is more fast and compatible with programs

I suggest you to update your very old firmware as soon as possible in any nokia center. If u have warranty (i think yes) the work is totaly free :)
And the improvements are lot ;)

@don u mean ngage games dun work? not all works well, some work wif fixes. try getting another version, and rem to move the lib files too if there are. games like sims wun work at all.

Firmware 3.42.1 | 16-10-03 on 6600 here and works fine with all apps and n-gage.
Not a problem at all.

This makes much more speed difference:
1. Go to Main Menu -> Log.
2. Click Options -> Settings -> Log duration.
3. 10 days.

As others have probably seen elsewhere. I don't recommend 1 day only.

I use a 10 day log in conjunction with a 256Mb MMC on 3.42.1.
I like to keep a bit of a record.
