if u have soundblaster there is a software that came with the soundblaster cd with a prog called wave editor that can amp mp3 and wav files.... if u dont have it then i think cooledit can do the job....
i cant really see the point in amping the songs tho, they are load enought for me. i dont even use the loudest volum and if they get louder than that the song quality will be really crappy
a tip to make the 6600 play louder: place the phone on a table or hold it against the wall and u will hear that the volum gets higher. if u got another phone then u gotta make sure the half part of the speaker is down against the table

where can i find soundblaster or cooledit?
the reson why i want a loder sound, is because i use the mp3 when i ride my motorbike (is nice to lisning on metallica when u ride at high speed :-P )
i have an nokia 3650, but i dont think there is such a diffrence between the sound-quality on 6600 and 3650.

soundblaster is a very popular sound card that most pc's have (whithout a sound card ur pc cant play any sounds) if u didnt know then i dont think u have that cd either... u should go for cooledit. i havnt tried cooledit myself but i know its good... just search for it at google. its prolly on download.com too

Yep, cool edit 2 is good. I'd send it to you, but it's around 50 megs, and I have dial-up. Just download the evaluation version and I will send you a keygen.

Oh yeah, and when/if you get it, only raise the dB around 10 otherwise it will distort the sound.

MP3Player has got a preamp setting to boost the MP3's volume.
