View Full Version : How to set up bluetooth on PC?
I got me a bluetooth adaptor yesterday, a 'MSI PC2PC Bluetooth' adaptor. I think I have paired it with my phone, bu how do I get Nokia Data Suite to pick it up?
Please help.

Go to mRouter in the PC's taskbar ... and enable the COMM port set as the Bluetooth Serial Port for your phone. Then get into PC Suite. But make sure you have installed software and drivers for the Bluetooth Dongle beforehand! You might get an icon called "My Bluetooth Places" on the desktop, depending on the brand and software

this is a big issue since microsoft likes to abuse good technology.. anyways
1) open up my bluetooth places > devices in range > (celphone name here) > and double click "bluetooth serial port"
2) rightclick the mRouter, go to properties.
3) check next to all the bluetooth entries.
4) start up the nokia connect software.
the tricky part is getting step one to work.. bluetooth is real finnicky in windows...

Step One wasn't that hard with the Billionton Bluetooth 100m USB Dongle and the software that came with it. I reckon how smooth the installation and pairing goes depends on the brand and the software.
Mine's running perfect on Windows XP Pro. But yea, Windows is finnicky. It doesn't even have USB 2.0 preinstalled ... GRRRR

Well everytime I try to connect my 6600 to the computer my 6600 says that, 'Bluetooth handsfree profile not supported by computer'?
Whats that mean?

that's what i'm saying.. it gets all stupid.. your message is normal tho..
you have one of two options:
keep trying.. eventually it will connect (the bt icon will turn green and the mrouter thing wil change, too)
or there's a fix.. lemme find it...

in the beginning, i got lucky with connecting with bluetooth..it slowly detiriorated, though... you might wanna try the fix anyways...
ok here it is:
1) go to advanced configuration (right click the bluetooth icon)
2) in "local services" tab click "add serial device"
3) in "client applications" tab click "add com port"
4) go back to mRouter and check the new coms
5) connect..
it will work every time, now, although you still get the error message...
it has something to do with the nokia phone closing the initial connection and then trying to make its own connection back.. kinda dumb.. but at least this fix works...
i got the problems using my BT MSI PC2PC to work after upgraded the widcomm software.
i use the MSI PC2PC with the driver on the CD
widcomm 1.4.2.10 which i can't to get work and i can't see an mRouter icon like in the 1.2.2.4
please help me,
which software do you use the widcomm 1.4 or the 1.2 "which used to work great with me"
and which driver do you use?
did you do the firmware upgrade? "i didn't"
thank you

in your system tray, near the clock. restart if you can't see it. oh and make sure you installed the nokia suite software.

only use the software that came with the product... changing to another version even if its newer will usually not work
