What's the dif between the two, and what is the range in metres?

6600's will transmit IR at approximately the same range, it's a hardware thing, not software, so the range will have more to do with the sensitivity of the IR receiver in the TV/HiFi or whatever.

it depends on what ur "remoting". on my vcr i can be about 3.5 m away... on the cd player i can only be 1 m away at max. i dont think it has anything to do with either ur using ir remote or total ir remote... use total... its better. i think the diff is that total has more features, less bugs and many more pre-installed remotes
