Apparently, I hear of the Oggplayer. You convert them into a *.ogg file extension or something and the quality is slightly less or equal but the file size is reduced. However, after the conversion ... you require the app OggPlayer installed on your 6600
If you own a Nokia N-Gage, convert your mp3s into AAC. Smaller and quality is equal to that of an mp3.
Hope that helps!

Reduce the Bitrate of the MP3s to about 56kbps using Musicmatch or dietmp3. You can also make it mono, to cut back the size.

hmmm aac dun look much diff in size compared to mp3s... maybe they are of the same stereo quality as a mp3.

Someone told me if you can only store half an hour of 128kbps mp3s on a 32MB MMC Card, but you can store an hour and a half of 64kbps aac's (similar quality to mp3) on the same card
Is it true? Because of that info, I thought AAC was compressed but the same quality

I dunno. There won't be a dramatic change in size if they were smaller.

well, i record songs using the nokia audio manager, it records songs in aac format, and they are the same.
i tink tt guy meant changing the bitrates, which is y it gets smaller, and theres a diff in quality.

Yeah. I didn't think that there would be much difference.
I only have my MP3s as a high bitrate on my computer, because of the sound system 56kbps sounds really cheap, but on my N-Gage it's all good.

If you have a 6600, and i think this would work for other s60s, you could always just use the nokia Multimedia Converter 2 available and nokia's forum (forum.nokia.com) and use that to convert your fiels into .awb or .amr formats. The file size shrinks considerably, and the quality isn't bad either.
As gophermaster stated, you could always just change the birtrate of your mp3s using a any audio editing tool. Also, if you have a nokia 6600, why not just switch to mono? You cant have true sterio on a n6600 anyways...
Hope this helps.
