View Full Version : Nokia Care Centre UK?

This may have already been answered somewhere on this forum but I've searched but can't find it. What I want to know is if there are any Nokia Care Centres in UK? Or preferably near Birmingham? I've serached the Nokia website and the internet in vain! I would like to upgrade my 6600 to the latest firmware and don't really want to send it off to get it done.

In Leeds the Nokia Centre is in the Carphone Warehouse... See if it is the same where you are.

I can go nearer:

there is one in carphone warehouse in the business park when you go out of birmingham on the A45 towards coventry. Well is closer to cov actually.

you can probably find one in birmingham city centre though

Just have a quick look at this list, all the UK's Care centres (http://www.nokia.co.uk/nokia/0,,48723,00.html) in one list!

Thanks people for the replies! I actually live in Coventry so the one at the Carphone Warehouse on A45 would be the nearest. Has anyone had their firmware upgraded by Carphone Warehouse yet? Do they need a receipt for the phone and how much does it cost?

Just phoned my local Care Centre and I'm getting my 6600 upgraded free of charge after 3pm (BST)! :D

Wheres all the Scottish Nokia Centers? I see none :-?

Im based near Glasgow so anything thereabouts would be great. My phones giving me some problems so i would like it fixed, but im not sending it off.

Any help will be appreciated.

I'm back with my freshly updated phone. I've got firmware v4.09.1/26-2-04 is this the latest version?

Just for general information, the people down at the service centre run a check on the IMEI, and from that they can see if the phone has been reported stolen, or blocked, and they can check with nokia when the phone was manufactured. Nokia allow 15months for the phone to be upgraded. This is because they assume that the phone won't have been hanging around in a warehouse for more than 3 months. This leaves you your 12month warrenty. When i went down with my mate, he was about 11 months into his warrenty, and the phone was getting rejected, as it was older than 15 months. Luckily, he could prove from his contract invoice that the fone had been purchased within 12 months, so they upgraded for free. While I was there, I saw a woman get rejected with her 3310, which she sed she had purchased a couple of weeks ago, yet nokia were saying that the phone was over 2 years old!! So, if you plan to get your firmware upgraded, make sure you take proof of purchase, just to be safe. Also, you get a receipt for the firmware being upgraded, so if you plan to sell the phone, you might be able to get a bit more for it, as you can show it has been upgraded.

poopoo just realised my 3650 birthday was 17th april now its stuck on v2.50 forever!!!! aghhhhhh :sad: :sad:

v2.50 isn't that bad... just some software doesn't work, like smart answer...
