hey guys, do u know an application that can turn off the screen while in standby for longer bat power and usage? i mean, instead of showing ur screen saver, it would just turn off and when the keypad is unlocked -- of course when it is locked or whenever a key is pressed if it the keypad wasn't locked, would turn on. i think i saw an app like this on my instructor's P800. My 6600 could only last for 2-3 days and it really bothers me to charge every now and then. kinda miss my old 6510 which could last for 5 days. tnx in advance guys. :D

The screen saver pretty much does that. I would think that its the processes running in the background that uses most of the power. 2-3 days is about the going rate for symbian phones, so I don't think you could do much better than that. My 3330 used to last a full week, and when i first got my 3650, the 2-3 battery life really got on my nerves, but i've got used to, and compared to other phones, 2-3 days is loads.

Or wait until the BL-6C battery is released!
(It's packaged with the N-Gage QD)

I wouldn't be so sure. Thats what really fucks the battery life. When the fone first gets turned on, it sends out a large signal to the network to log on and let the network the phone is there. I know quite a few NGage users were pissed off about it, because when they wanted to change MMC, they had to turn off the fone, replace the card, then put it back on. Doing this a few times in a day eats power. In order to get the best batt life, leave your fone on 24/7, have the screen saver on 30 seconds, have no apps in the background, avoid long calls and playing games. This will provide the best battery life.

i agree with you MusicbOffin. restarting does eats too much power.

Whats the deal with li-poly? What are the pros and cons of that type of batt?
