If you use extensive JAR/SIS games (including N-Gage Games), intense Bluetooth action, mp3s through an app like UltraMP3 ... Your battery should be out of juice within 24 hours. If it doesn't ... your phone is special :D
Maximise Battery life? No idea (anyone have any info?) But you can carry a Emergency Charger or a spare BL-5C Battery
PS: How did you record 20 minutes of video?

Oh, ic. Then what's the point of upgrading the firmware just to get extended video recording ability ... when you still can't have sound?
And I hear you lose the ability to send files like JAR and SIS via Bluetooth/Infrared. Is that true?

yea its true.. that sux.. and another minor irritation after the upgrade is that i used to be able to type sms recipient names in letters but now its defaulted to numbers and i dont really noe how to change this permanently to letters.. damn irritating man..

@william, i heard so too, about the cant send files part, but by renaming the files, .sis to .si for example, they can still b sent. maybe some 6600 users can confirm tis?
and some tips to save batt.... set screen saver to 1 min, make sure no runnin app in the background, (press and hold menu to see, press c to close any), that shld b it.
of course, batt life will b consumed, if u use ur fone alot. so u might consider investing in a desktop charger and another spare batt.

Yeah, i get 3 days (72 hours +) by just leaving my fone on standy. If you avoid calls, wap and gaming, you will get max life. I also have a 2nd battery, which means you can be really lazy about charging, cuz I'm sur emost of us have left the house for work/school to find the fone on 1 bar batt about to die, and you have the whole day ahead of you. A 2nd batt solves this very easily. Then, you have the dilema of when you forgot to charge the 2nd batt.... :P

when i first got my phone my battery would last for ages, even when i smashed it with games and bluetooth etc.. however its deteriorated a lot like my old nokia battery did and doesnt last as long, need to charge it most days, no longer good to go away for the weekend without a charger

well, there is this japanese branded battery by the name of Momax or something... it does extend the life of ur battery. in comparison, if the normal battery is 10 points, then momax is 13 points. its pretty cheap n trustworthy too. my bro is using the battery for his 6100 and it lasted double than his normal battery.
dun wori for it may burnt ur fone or anything, its guaranteed to worked. btw, im using its LCD protector and it cost me ard - US$5. its worth it, reduce the glare not the vision, and its really hard.
the battery cost ard US$20 or less (even cheaper than the original batt and better performance), i cant remember that much. anyway, im from singapore, and not sure whether ur country distribute this brand.....
try it guys!

If I'm not wrong, there are other companies certified by Nokia to make their batteries and accesories... usually these products comes with a Nokia hologram sticker... and they are relatively cheap!

Yeah the BL-6C will be released in the N-Gage QD, by Nokia. It will be a battery with a higher mAh than the BL-5C.

i hoped that it will be compatible with our older phone, like 6600. finally nokia realised that their ngage couldnt really function like a game deck w/o the endurance. how many hours did they expect us to play in the 1st place? play 1 hr and take a 20mins break after play? - the health slogan shit.
nokia is jus some dumbass

They make the best fones out, so unless you want to put up with the shit motorola expect people the use, i'd give nokia a break.

Nokia is the most common, so therefore there are more extras that you can get for the phone (ie. games, enhancments.)
But they really do make some really dodgy phones. Some of them are just brilliant though.

there are sum gud phones: 7650, 6600, and N-Gage but thats basicly it. And further phones r going to be crapy. . .nokia loses money because their opponents motorola and samsung created bigger choice and wider variety of camera phones and smart phones (check out my thread about 7610 and samsung D710)
im going to buy N-Gage QD cos its cheap and because my frnd has many games for ngages which i'll use. . .can we use QD's batt on 6600? if yes than its another "+" for buying that phone :-P
