Greetingz to all...i have doubts about nokia 6600 latest firmware (v4.09).. :-? hope someone out there can clear them.

i am interested in knowing wat benefit/s and restriction/s it impose on the phone upon upgrading.

particularly more interested in knowing..
Does e phone still allow sharing files between other bluetooth devices (N-Gage, SE phones)?
Are we still allow to INSTALL .sis file into e phone?
Can i still use SMARTMOVIE to view video?

thanz for e attention!

nope, cam fx is working fine...

hey jus upgrade, theres no big deal.... its an advantage... its faster on the whole. secondly oni prob is u cant send .sis file, etc via bluetooth. jus change the extension and change the extension upon receiving. thats all

dun hesitate for those who has not upgrade. DO IT NOW!~!!!!

well. if u move ur sms inbox to mmc (go to messages, options, settings, other, set mem in use to mmc), then ur sms will b on mmc, so upgrading the firmware wun delete it.

when u upgrade firmware in singapore, u only gif them the fone, u keep the batt, sim and mmc. it takes around 2 hrs to flash in singapore.

some apps might not function, coz they haf some files in c:. its easy to make them work, juz reinstall them.

rem ur contacts and other stuff in c: !

Right.. So just take it to nokia and they'll do it. In the UK, last time I had to do that to my phone, it was sent off for a week!!

I have version 3.42.1 - worthwhile upgrading? It kinda sounds like it, seeing as they've gone up a major revision number.

Go to www.nokia.com.au, www.nokia.com.sg, www.nokia.com.co.uk and find the nearest Nokia Care Centre! Simple really ...

I don't have a 6600 anymore. SOLD. Not stolen. I'm thinking of upgrading the firmware in my N-Gage. But difficult to proove the date and location of purchase ...

Oh, why?!?! You gave up a very nice phone! Are you tired of Nokia now? :)

Yes, starting to be.

My N-Gage, which I like and enjoy very much will probably be my last Nokia phone. Depending on prices and availability of money, will I decide about the Nokia 7610 which looks pretty nice.

Nokia N-Gage QD is out of the question. 6600 is starting to be fat for my liking. I'd say "if you're going to make a slightly large phone, make it BIG!"

Well, I'd like to conclude saying this: "I'm a side-talker, and PROUD OF IT!"

Before flashing just use the "memory card" app to make a backup, and restore it after flashing... The only thing I had to do was apply the theme again. All my programs worked perfectly, and 100% of the settings and data are kept.
