Okay... like WOW! This is such a great program and I can even get it to work with GPRS but...

What's the catch? I mean... the software is free so what's in it for agile?

How can they make money out of this program. I have even sent pics to MSN using it, it's not quite like PC-PC msn where the file transfers, it seems to upload to an agile server then send a link to the file.

Surely there are hidden costs, anyone?

:-?

It won't work on GPRS with O2. You'll just have to use wap.

I'm on o2 pay as you go (o2 online) and I can't get Agile to work over GPRS. I can get it to work through WAP however. I am interested to know how he has managed to achieve this. I've tried everything!

Musicb0ffin

Its about £2.35/mb i think, although i have gone way over before and never been charged, as has my mate on O2 Online contract, so it might even work out cheaper than wap. Just gotta get it working first.

My tariff is "o2 Online" which is the new name for "Genie". For £10 a month I get 300 free text messages, 300 free WAP dial-up minutes and 24/7 100% free GPRS plus the £10 to use on calls and MMS. I don't know of ANY other pay as you go deal which is as good as that! Also not long ago, o2 were giving away the SIM cards for free! The thing is though, o2 get a bit slack, so I topped up with £10 2 months ago and I'm still getting free text messages and WAP! Another good thing is, if you have £0.00 credit GPRS is still available and free!

im on o2 online 100 contract, and can connect using o2 wap gsm

if you want the settings go to the o2 site go on the help and search for wap settings or something like that, in the search results there will be a page where you choose what settings you want, put your mobile number in and it sends you the settings in a service message
all you do then is save the settings.

i dont think agile messenger is that good

i think that e-messenger is much better

go into services then set up a new book mark with this addy:

http://start.e-messenger.com/mobile

then you can choose what ever access point you want

I got connected using Agile Messenger, using my free o2 dialup WAP, but it then said that nobody was online, and I know people that were! (I do have friends.) Any suggestions?

Yeah, use the latest version. I think v2.10 fixed that, and apparently 2.11 is out, but i have been unable to get hold of it yet.

Hi Guys...

Right... first off... I know what i'm talking about and it IS working through GPRS on my N6600 on O2 UK (contract).

I just sent the settings to "nixfonepro" before checking this thread was so popular (any luck mate?)

You need to create a new connection point:

tools>settings>connection>access points>options>new access point

These are the settings i use:

Connection Name: O2 GPRS (any name U wish)
Data Bearer: GPRS
Access Point Name: mobile.o2.co.uk
User name: mobileweb
Prompt Password: No
Password: "mobile" or "password" *
Authentication: Normal
Homepage: http://pda.02.co.uk
Connection Security: Off
Session Mode: Permanent

I'm on O2 contract

So if it works for me, then it should work for you (assuming you are on the same network and have the correct settings). I also use these settings for email retrieval/sending and have set that up on several N6600's on O2.

*(cant remember but you can find settings on the net... that's where I got them from!)

Correct me if i am wrong but i believe if you are on pay as you go O2 UK then gprs will work and be unlimited but stuff like email and msn messenger will not work, this is due to needing the mobile internet settings which are only active on contract phones. Shame really, any other way us pay as you go users can use gprs to check msn messenger? :)

Yeah, but now o2 have started charging for gprs when you go over, which is a little annoying.. Still, get plenty of free wap, so not as thought i can't use it.

damn thats evil!

oh well agile don't use that much just a few kb a day.

Well, my record is 220kb for an agile session, and that was in 3 convos for about 3 hrs, so its not easy to use it all. I managed to go over on grps this month by 200kb and got charged 40p... Don't know how im gonna afford to pay the extra 40p...
