How can you possibly make a brighter 4096 colour screen? They're all 4k screens ...
I compared these phones: 3100, 3200, 6610, 7250 and N-Gage
The brightest were 3200 and N-Gage
How is it possible for a brighter screen in N-Gage QD?
I don't get it ...

It's down to the quality of the LCD. The best quality LCD screens will produce far better clarity than lower quality ones, thus making the display clearer and brighter. Also lower quality or older LCD displays used to dither alot making colours much less defined and images appear blurred. Some companies use this dithering effect however to simulate more colours but a law change meant they couldn't put "65,000 colours" on a box if the product only produced this amount of colours through dithering. They had to state that there were 65,000 simulated colours or something to that effect. So I'd say that the N-Gage display has a sharper and more defind display than the others. Also brightness could relate to the physical brightness of the backlight of the display.

So ... in terms of N-Gage vs. N-Gage QD in 4k colour screen quality,
You reckon that the QD WILL be brighter?
On www.n-gage.com, it said that the N-Gage had a brighter colour display, and the N-Gage QD had brightest colour display. Pfft ...

I'd say that the N-Gage QD will have the brightest LCD.

Even if N-Gage QD has the brightest 4096 colour screen, it cant beat the Nokia 6600's 65k screen right?
Can I have a sigh of relief?
I'm going to have both Nokia 6600 & N-Gage very very soon ... :)

True. That's why I'm not going back to Series 40 anymore. Only Series 60 or 90. Is there a Series 80? If so, example of a phone?

I like the 7700's icons ... pity about its overall shape. The idea of touch-screen is good
I like the 7700 icons so much, i downloaded a theme called "Nokia 7700 Stylish" made by *unknown* off www.symbianthemes.com - those rectangular icons ...

How can you possibly make a brighter 4096 colour screen?...
Simple. Replace your backlight with bright LED's ...at the expense of battery life.

All Series 60 phones use TFT while the earlier series 40 phones use STN, naturally the series 60 screens look better

Not really true. 7650, 3650 are all S60's and all of them used passive display only, not TFT.
6600 is the first nokia s60 to use TFT display.
6230 is the first nokia s40 to use TFT display.
Actually, the first Series 40 phone with TFT screen was the 6650, second was the 7600. They have 128x160 screens, but they're still Series 40. 6230 was the first 128x128 TFT screen, and also the first Series 40 2.0.
The Communicators are Series 80, with 640x200 screens.
7700 is Series 90, with 640x320 touchscreen.

6650 and 7600 are series 45, not series 40
and all series 60 phones use TFT, its just that the quality of the TFT in earlier series 60 phones was really shitty, really dark, but notice there wasnt any ghosting at all. i believe its stated somewhere in the 7650 manual that the its display is active matrix TFT
