Hey everyone my 7610 small Review!!!!

Hi tze, Sim lim tower has a demo set of 7610.

Ok, i tested the 7610 vs my Sharp gx32 yesterday.
oni a few things i tested... so bear with me..
Amoung all of nokia's symbian phones,
i would say the 7610's EXTRA LAGGY.
boot up time with out the (Rmmc?) was a real drag.....
it took about twice or more time longer than any other nokia's symbian phone.
i wonder why..

Sumhow when the nokia Rep brought it to the shop.he claimed the 7160 is 2.0mega pixel....
To me it made no diffrence..... be it 1 or 2 mega pix,
Going into menu was so slow i could chat to my friend and turn back twice b4 it finally loaded.

Cam mode was not fantastic, while using the cam the preview mode wuz not laggy, but there's definately something wrong.... a line keeps running down throught the time b4 taking a picture.... its not a blank line or lcd fault definately. its like a television on the blink... (hope u get wat i mean!!) :lol:

Saving the picture was just as slow....... it took about 10secs or more juz to save a picture, and another 5 to get back into cam mode.

over all built quality was nokia's excellent, buttons are a little tad stiff...
dint get to try much though...

As opposed to many new camera fones, i would say nokia is still behind time on the 65k colour screen as compared to sharp's 260k. 1mega vs 1mega.

The 7610 is not a big deal as we u me? thought it would be.
its the slow time starting anything and saving tat makes me prefer the 6600 anyother day.
good news of u 6600 owners!! LOL

I saw the demo n-gage QD as well... but dint get to test it...!

well...nokia can make you people all buy and rush for 7610 and after 3 months when almost all people have it they release 7610i LOL,way to go on making money! :lol:

That's kinda good news. I was kinda disappointed because I thought I should have got a 7610 over the 3650, now that I know it's not as good, sure the camera quality is very much better then the 3650, I think it's good I stuck with it. Maybe later on if they come out with something as fast as the 3650 or faster with upgraded hardware I might get that.

And no, I don't like the Code Name Charly one, it looks really horrible...

In fairness to 7610, I think this is not the right time to judge it. The available units are test units only, with very early firmware version. There are still things to fix and upgrade before the actual commercial release is sold to the public. It is like testing a new beta version of a s/w, once the commercial version is on sale, it is much better than the early release.

Yeah it may be the firmware thats unstable. But set is due to launch by next mth here. so how in such short time i dont see how they can improve it by then.

yes knowing nokia.... few mths after 7610 launch.... maybe they'd launch the 7610i or 7710 or wat ever with 260k colour screen????? LOL!!! :lol: :lol: :lol:

Yeah, aren't most test units out revision 3 or somthing? Most ppl who have had anytime to play with one have said that they won't review it because it won't produce a fair picture. Its like treating a beta version of some software and complaining about it crashing somtimes. I think now nokia have some experience of making good smartfones, this will follow on nicely. The target of 2nd quarter appears to have been and gone, praps this is to iron out those probs. I'm really looking forward to its release.

Well not for me.... i will never go back to nokia.... not for now... not until next 2years at least.
nokia still makes fone that lacks of something. always missing out on this and that. Sick and tired of them

well loading twice as longer than any other nokia phone...ermm...i think we may test this 7610 again when the local sets come out....

regarding the 2 mega pixel....it made no difference to u well...maybe to those who would really wanna edit their photos at home with photoshop 2 megapixel may help...

Then again if u wanted a phone with high mega pixels, u could either live in japan where 3.2mp is already out???
or juz buy a 8250 and a sony or canon 4mp cam?
over all, u'd still have money left for a printer.

My friend in Malaysia has got the actual official released 7610, and the speeds must have been improved. Because he says the phone is faster than the 6600 for sure! He says that saving a picture only takes 1 second longer, phone startup time is shorter and entering/exiting Camera was pretty fast

A lot of people miss out this point abt hp camera is crappy and it is more cheaper to buy a normal hp and a good digital camera!
First thing ,r u going to bring along yr high-end digital camera with yr hp all the time? Why people want a hp camera is because they will definitely bring along this gadget all the time and snap something when they feel like it!
