Can a DCT3 work without SIM

I need opinions about the possibility to tweak DCT3 sw in order for it not to look for the SIM card and allow to still use the phone (not like a phone, of course :lol: )

Do you guys think it's achievable?

well, as for the 33xx i know it works because anyone with good hand skill can do it manualy: just power on phone and then lift carefuly the battery and remove SIM without letting phone go off. only problem is that, although it looses network right away, after 4 mins or so it looks for SIM and ends the fun :lol: "insert SIM" :-x

btw, i was told that the trick i mentioned allowed people to make calls and pay just the minimum rate :-?

Just tried it, it gets to the calling stage, but then asks for a sim card :sad:

This reminds me of a test me and Zandis did once
if you create a shortcut to a function, eg. invert screen and use the shortcut key patch you can load up functions without a sim

it works with all g3n0lite functions and probably could work with others
it also works with MADos if you create a BL to the shortcut key ;)

you could probly put a short_key to SHOW_MAINMENU that would just bring up the main menu with or without a sim.

hi fellas,

here is somthing you may like...
patch short key main first then patch this script

how to use:
remove your simcard power up the fone you should see "INSERT SIM CARD" then press your *&[numba] then u will c the text ok pres the navkey, you should see the main screen. its not very reliable but it works
note: dont try calling it will just lock up your fone.

i made this in about 5min. :rolleyes:

If neone has any info about how to show menus ( and have them function Well ) please contact me.

Great Script!! Extremely Good In My Opinion!! - But there is a problem - if you tell someone about this feature and they happen to steal or borrow the phone, they can still bypass your simcards pin code - but this isnt major has they cannot access anything such has messages :lol:

R u sure u used g3nolite properly?
use v2.2, open the flash file, click on load,
open shortkey_main.gsc Then press run script.
Repeat this for spaceimpact33's script.
then correct crc's n faid n dat, fix all checks,
save it and then flash it.
when u on the phone, make sure u press * and your chosen
key AT THE SAME TIME - not * then ur number
( only sayin this stuff cuz sum people have made these mistakes. )
If this doesnt work, try downloading another copy of
G3n0lite from another resource because i have found some people tamper
with g3gg0's software and it dont work properly afta dat.

i have got a flash file with mados and the no sim script, clock, invert lcd, rythmic lights, slideshow and virus embeded into it, and i forgot to change the font and menu images. i want to change them but i cant open the file in ppm edit because i want to upload all images from one bitmap. i dont want to redraw all the images again because it took me a while to do the ones i have. any ideas?? :-? -

yes, as long as it can find a near-by mobile phone mast it will make the emergancy call
although I never did try I dont really want to waste their time :)

i cant open the flash file in ppm edit now that i have mados embeded - it keeps saying out of memory. i have allready exported all the bitmaps when i edited them manually last night - bout 300 or summin - when i edited it in flsedit. flsedit allows me to change graphics but wnt save the file, it keeps sayin close ur hexedit but i dont have an hexedit open.
so baisicly i want to change the graphics but the i have the following problems:

PPMedit - "out of memory" error message

FLSedit - "error saving file. close your hexedit" error message - no hexedit is open

can anyone help :-?

this is way out of subject but i think that your problem might be related to running out of mcu space while editing bitmaps.

get yourself the jonoks 1.6 and load bitmaps individualy then save file

after that try to open your flash with PPM manager or with FMaster and (before it crashes) try to see if the problem is for sure the lack of MCU space

True, the ETSI specs require all GSM phones to be able to make emergency
calls at any time - even if there is no SIM, asks for PIN or security code on bootup etc...

I'm not sure if the emergency call will succeed if the phone is blacklisted. Should do.

Here in the UK due to the increasing number of hoax calls to 999 the respective call centres are authorised to decline calls if there isn't a SIM card inserted, or the phone is not registered to the network.

My third script, simple, though effective.

These 2 bytes will bypass all sim restricted, not accepted or not inserted warnings and blocks.

PS: Experimental, for reversing useage only.

my experience with nokdoc's new script :)

1- Not working with genolite 2.2 (known bug of geggo's last compilation)
2- pattern for SimErrOld only works for 8210. To solve this i just replaced the 'FF' from the last 3rd byte by '00'


FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF00FFFFFFFFFF00FF00FFFF <--- new mask
3- As soon as phone is powered ON menu appears :) no need to use shortkeys and "NO SIM" message
4- Locked phone to one provider and used SIM from another without any error messages but....... no accessing SIM's phonebook neither registering to newtork. So no calls allowed (maybe for later development ;) )
5- Tried with a locked SIM (3 wrong attempts) and menu is accessible until phone displays "SIM blocked" and "Enter PUK code". After that, no chance

U can be very right bout that 00 in the last area, I'll revise the attachment.

All others is a bit useless, since it ain't for that purpose.

Check the intention of this thread, it's a reversers phone now.

This patch is made for using the phone without a sim, and we all have the knowledge without a sim U can't call anyway.

It only bypass the halt when such Sim-Error messages appear normally.

True, it's a reversers script but that was just a check-list of my findings :roll:

About beeing a NO-SIM phone, that's not exactly true because when i used a non-accepted SIM, although the phonebook wasn't accessible, the extra menu (SIM menu as some call) was possible to browse ;)

In Nokix's section there's a similar thread where NokDoc showed the way to get this patch to work in a more efficient way.

The nokix's version 2 is already made and now genolite is too :D
