i've managed to use my regular 512mb mmc in it. though the batt cover is really tight... slightly not closed fully...
i juz forced the batt down and it closes....
if im not wrong.. using the bl4c batt would ractify it.
yup...u are right...u may like to use a nk6100 batt for that...
but do also consider that the power will be use up very fast...

yeah... so i've got to either choose to have it slightly fat or shorter batt life.
seems to work fine with being fat,,
juz that its harder to remover backplate after putting it in..LOL...
now i dun mind that, coz i've got a 512 wasted... so might as well make use of it...

My Number One pet hate, is having to deal with a certain degree of risk to achieve something.
I will not (1) Break my SIM Card or (2) Mod my new 7610
So ... I won't be trying this. I'll just pay for few more $ for a larger RS-MMC Card :D

Based on the link's pictures, I think it is possible to file-off the bottom portion of regular MMC to fit in 7610? I'm not sure though, that filing it may damage some circuit path in the MMC board. Maybe someone there with 7610 will try it with cheap 16Mb MMC and share the result here... :)

nope. ur not supposed to file of yer mmc, its really thin... u'd spoil it only.
the thing u can do is either choose to file the 2 sides of plastic behind the rsmmc slot, thats whats blocking the regular mmc frm being flushed...
or just use the normal mmc and place on the batt.
after leaving it on for a few days now my mmc's bent.... LOL!!!
but only slightly... and theres no tear line on the plastic.... so its not bent to a extent.....
everything works fine........ would be leaving it in till i dunno when...

@k2bk2b, well, u beta pray that the mmc of the circuit of the MMC dun break.
yeah, i noe how to read chinese, and i muz say the guy is pretty daring to try this! lol
im sure that the value of the 7610 will drop to almost nothing if u attempt to file the two catch to secure the RSMMC. thats the worst scenario....unless u intend to live, literally live with the 7610.
i wouldnt mind the second method which is jus press down the MMC and squeeze the shit out of it. lol :-D
anyway, thanks for the info pal!!!

yeah, i agree bubt that will mean that we will be sticking with max 256MB of MMC? that will be really bad for a 1-megapix phone! :D
but modify 7610? that wun be possible rite? nk_au?
it will be like "mine preeeciousss, my preeeeecioussss" <hissing effect>

Yea. It isn't worth it breaking the 7610 at the moment. Especially when I paid just below 1000 Australian Dollars for this beauty ...

aww guys u wont be damaging yer phones... not to worry...
current side effects i see is my mmc is slightly bent.. tats all.....
have no other problems watsoeva....
the trick to removing back casing is like removing 6600 faceplate but easier...
u dun need to press anybuttons.
silde fingernails along side... side pops up... carry on sliding to the top...
the case automatically comes out....
intially i was worried too.... worried something would spoil....
but really theres nothing....
after closing it in... u wont even see the holes or gaps....
juz close the back and press sides in...
voila....
unless u plan to mod the part that blocks normal mmcs.... the 2 legs.. that would be harder...

but wun the back cover .... hmm, get loose over time?
worse, how about the pin (that connect the mmc)? will it become loose over time as the bent MMC will inevitably creates a lever effect (the pivot being the two legs)?
these will cause the phone value depreciates! (dun mention to saw off the 7610 legs :-x )

It didn't work? I put the Adaptor on my RS-MMC and *carefully* shoved it into my MMC Card Reader/Writer
And to my surprise ... it worked!
Don't know why it didn't work for you though ... :-?

prob u din noe about this, the mmc reader will wear down (rather FAST) if u use it often...
try to insert it reeeally hard and see whether it works..
my reader is in that state oredi...need to get a new one soon.

Damn ... then there was no point in buying a 6-in-1 Card Reader/Writer if its going to "Wear and Tear" that easily ... :-o

i have the regular MMC before so i don't think i will make that mistake of inserting it the other way. i tried to put a masking tape around the adaptor's metal surface coz this might cause some grounding but to no avail. Anyone can share some more thoughts? :-?
