1. www.aivanet.com

2. You can install SIS files using PC Suite (requires BT or IrDa connection). You can install JAR AFTER installing a SIS file

Also you can install programs and games via email.
No extra device needed in that case.

Just send the program you want to install to your own email address and then use the internet connection to pick it up from your mailbox.

does that email thing work for everything and is as a good as Bluetooth or are there drawbacks.

Yes, it does work for everything.
Bad thing is, that depending on your network provider/operator the internet connection via GPRS might be expensive to use. Check the price before transferring anything too big...

Personally I prefer the BT. Itīs simple and free of charges.

1. I can't find a good POP3 server. Preferably free lol

2. If I do find a good POP3 server and got a working e-mail ... I can never retrieve my e-mails onto my phone

I have GPRS and MMS working ... do I need anything else? :-?

Tough question!
Well...I just create an empty email to myself and then Iīll add a game or an app as attachment. Then I send it. After that, Iīll open the mailbox and open the new mail. Then I check the attachments and download it from there...
I doīnt know why you canīt open the attachment at Yahoo? Maybe itīs some setting in your phone that does not allow open any attachments?

nk_au have you defined the mailbox in your phone?

hmm, LENNSTER, i have an easier way to install things into ur fone.

hope this helps,

get a mmc reader. it cost ard (US$13) and plug it to ur pc. now u can use the mmc like a floppy diskette/ thumbdrive! jus plug in ur mmc into the card reader and copy files u wanna install into ur mmc den put the mmc back to ur phone. its as simple as that. i feel that bluetooth is kinda tougher method andthe pc suite thing is kinda cumbersome.

btw, if u r really new to this, the first few important apps to download are, fexplorer, appman, .... and a few good mango themes to replace those shitty themes! :-D

and if u havent done anything to ur phone yet, u may wanna check the version of ur firmware (press *#0000# on ur phone at the main screen) and if it is V3.....something, u SHOULD upgrade the firmware to the latest (not so new anymore) V4.09.1. this new firmware speed up ur phone abit, fix some (i feel quite alot) bugs and support some apps which are rather good to have (though dun support some too).

hope everything helps for you! and welcome to nokiafree.org!
