************* RESOLVED
Hi

I have a nokia 7110 and just bought a data cable for the phone which supports FBUS and MBUS. I've plugged the cable into com1 on my computer and have tried to connect to the phone using hyperterminal. I tried connecting at 9600 and 19200 bits per sec, it connects but does not allow be to issue at AT Commands.

I downloaded the serial drivers for the phone from the nokia site to see if this makes any difference but it does not seem to help. I also tried to connect to the phone using a linux distro and used minicom to see if hyperterminal was at fault, but still had no luck.

All i'm trying to achieve is connecting to the 7110 through my serial cable so i can issue AT Commands. If anyone can help with my problem it would be greatly appreciated.

regards

Rich

ok found out what the problem was. I was using a DAU-9P cable. I needed a DLR-3P cable to be able to utilise the phone as a modem and issue at commands.

Thanks Adrian for the help
