6600 Startup Tone

My phone starts with image but no startup tone. I notice that it works(Startup Tone) only If I enable Pin Code requested each time the phone is switched on. What has gone wrong on my phone setting please help.

I had the same problem. Sometimes it played the tone and sometimes it did´nt. Turning your phone on in silent mode caused it also not to play the tune. I thought that it´s just some bug.
When I formatted drive C I noticed that after the format it worked ok all the time.
This helped me.
(Formatting drive C will cause you to loose all your data on that drive.) Remember to make a backup!

I formated the phone(C:) & MMC as well but the same problem.

i think this is a bug on 6600...though it is not experienced when the phone is fresh,meaning no installed 3rd applications.

jus a gez, whenever you have applications that also starts up automatically it drags the start-up causing the sound to be eliminated.

i had that problem too, even when it didnt have and 3rd party apps. but i agree with the lag at the start up. when i had a theme on and a whole load of messages (about 1000) is when it happened. now sometimes it works, sometimes it doesnt.
i dont think its a bad thing tho.

anyway, its really no big prob as it doesnt really affect the overall usage of the phone...so i ok with the little bug.

however, i realised after i did my firmware upgrade, the tone is in coincidentally again. btw, i really mean coincidentally....
