Confused about getting 7610

hi

im so confused on whether i should be buying the 7610 or wait......
i have a 3650 thats starting to screw up on me, restarting by itself, not having any signal while showing full on the mobile, not registering miss calls properly (missed a looooot of calls)

is it worth it to buy the 7610??

and does the full size MMC work in it cuz i have a 128 that i dont wanna throw away

You can, if you want to:

1. Chip off the gold plate from your SIM
2. Wrank out the "Sim holder"
3. Use a BL-4C battery instead of 5C
4. Risk losing your 7610 warranty

Btw, anything is a reason to buy a 7610 ... :D

The Upgrade from 3650 to 7610 is o.k.!

But if you don't mind the design of the upcomming 6630, I would wait for this phone...

And I would not risk my warranty by using a non-rs mmc in a 7610...

But if you want... ;)

That's why I'm waiting for a web site to start selling RS-MMC cards to Australians.

At the moment, only www.expansys.com.au has some listed (I'm aiming at the ATP 512MB RS-MMC). However, its only at pre-order. I'll wait and save :D

Well, but if you are short on money and you don't mind the design/thickness of the 6600 and you need no MP-Cam, then you could buy the 6600 instead of the 7610...

Nearly the same features, much more cheap and it supports your old 128 MB MMC!

Well, then buy a 7610! Or a SendoX or a Siemens SX1! Or wait for the Nokia 6630! ;)

after long research and other misc stuff lol i have decided not to get the 7610. since its not worth for the price since in dec. the prices will be on the road again like the 7650 3650 3660 and now 6600. i know thts bound to happen but im not worried about that. ill wait till a good nokia comes out. wht im looking for is stereo and mp3 included this time for god sakes. i wud love to have touchscreen but thts not a big issue. 1 or 2 or 3 mp cam wud be fine :lol: . i am gonna be looking out for some other phone now tht will have decent potential. after 6630 i wanna see wht nokia comes out wit. dunno how many agree. i wud love something like a p900with 1mp cam and radio and other features. wud be nice if nokia though it out and give us a good feature packed phone by now. sick of taking us for granted.

get p900 instead of 7610. 7610 only has good shape but p900 has good fetures sold ur nokia memory card {128} to ur friend , if not then i can help u.

there a few things p900 does not have that im looking out for. 1st would be that the replacement is just so close now it wud be stupid to get it. its too old no 1mp camera. the VGA cam sux on it so badly tht i love my 6600 over it. other than that i guess all cool. wud not mind a radio feature in these top phones now. i mean hello we are after all paying close to $500 to these stuff here and still they give no radio. and nokia wht to say they cant be nice enough to give us stereo till now. sheeeeesh. its not like other companies are not givin all these combos. siemens and sendo are but then nokia knows how loyal we are and mayb by the time our children grow up they might JUST make a good full featured phone. :lol: . at least i can hope wht else to say. for now i am waiting to get my xda 2 tht my bro is gettin next sunday. a lil off topic but still gonna ask can ne1 plz tell me where can i find cool stuff of games and apps for xda 2. im not selling nokia 6600 dont worry i love this site too much now. so no matter wht ill own at least one nokia symbian ;)

I am not 100% sure, but as the 7610 has OS 7.0 (like 6600) and 3650 has OS 6.1, I would say: Same as 6600!

i think u got it all wrong. see if u dint notice nokia increases its phone mem. everytime by around 2 MB. the 6630 has hot swap like the nokia ngage QD. the RSMMC slot is on the right of the phone and 64mb rsmmc will come along with it. so the total goes upto 70mb + usable for the user. its not 70mb all inclusive it has a rsmmc slot . besides my pal just got a 7610 from some asian country for $ US 400. now im thinking again. same coaster ride again :lol:

6630 has the best memory expansion system because its hot-swappable. The design is so good, you simply pull-out the mem card from the side without even powering-off and removing the phone cover or battery. In fact, it is better implemented than QD's hot swap wherein you have to remove first the QD cover before replacing mem card.

It's very very useful, because you can load new files (f.e. MP3's) in a few seconds in your phone without restarting it...

I would be very stressed if my SX1 would have no hot-swap port like the 6600... :lol:

7610 has Night Mode ... :D

Sendo X should have been released in Christmas 2003 or 1st Quarter or 2004. But they delayed it, and there *should* be consequences ...

im not anti 7610 im just pro sendox

btw yes 7610 has night mode but the sendo has a flash light, i have seen this in action and it makes a considerable difference, really lights up the surroundings

although the sendoX is delayed and only just out, it still beats 7610 in many areas such as size, stereo out put hot swappable SD/MMC (in my opinion a phone with MMC/SD is a bonus these days they are rare yet are cheaper for larger capacities), fm radio, larger screen, only advantage the 7610 has over sendox is a MP cam

i got no problems with 7610 its just missing too many features that other phones have
