I have this wierd problem with my new (bought off ebay) 3390.
It was supposed to come unlocked, so I stuck in my new Rogers/At&T SIM card. No dice, "SIM card not accepted".
So I do a bit of browsing and find an unlock code on this site (using the calc), pops up with a nice screen saying SIM restrictions off ... and my RATT SIM card still doesn't work.

Now I have a few questions:
1. It was a fido phone, but that shouldn't matter for the SIM right? Just the unlock codes.
1.5 How do I tell if it is truly unlocked? With no SIM in it, it says "Insert SIM"
2. I was given two codes by the calc, the first one didn't work but the second one did. But I entered them about 10 mins apart ... are they supposed to be entered one after each other?
2.5 What can I do?
3. Am I SOL? (dead phone ...)

Best way to find out is with a cable and noktool,

read the phone and see what locks are closed and why.
