Need Help With Text/Dictionary

Hi all, i just got my NOKIA 7610 today......

I am a new cellphone user and had very few experience with a cell phone so please advise me and i will really appreciate it :)

I encounter a problem with my 7610, i can't type alphabetical letter, all it came out was numbers. I already install the CD-ROM and connect it through my PC and did all what i think is needed.

After reading through the manual, in order to turn on the predictive text, i press the edit key but nothing happened....i went to the menu and search for dictionary, trying to turn it on as it was mentioned in the manual, but the phone responded "dictionary word information missing. Install word database".....

And another problem as well, when i turn on my phone, it says system error but after pressing the enter key i can still access my phone, i am quite confused about the system error thing as well........

I am sorry if i asked stupid question, but will really appreciate if anyone can help me with it, thanks in advance.

did u install any apps? apps like wildskinz can cause this.

install a file explorer, and try deleting the system.ini file and restart phone. if doesnt work, u need to format phone with *#7370#.

Thanks for replying, i had only installed the provided CD-ROM in the pack and didn't dl anything else

I tried to restart the phone and it requires a lock code, what do i do with it ?

lock code = security code, default is 12345.

Speaking of Text and Dictionary (T9 in this case),

In a SMS, when I press 5283 the word "Late" comes up. But I use the word "Kate" more often than "Late". How do I make it so that Kate is the first word that appears without press * to look at alternatives?

Secondly, say I was spelling out a word and typed in wrong. How do I delete the incorrectly entered data and re-input?

someone told me that the more you use specific words in predictive, it kinda automatically puts it first in the list of alternatives. they were talking about 3310 tho, and dont think it works on series 60 if it ever did work on any phone. i remember trying it on my 3650, and no matter how many times i used this one word it never changed its position in the list of alternatives.

could have all been pure 100% bull :)
