I've browsing Nokia site, and seen the new coming soon 6630, hate the shape (like my 3650) but 1.3 megapixel with one hour video reordering, and hot swap slot for MMC, what I really like is the 3G Speed with Series 60 is that mean that it's with a processor of 3 GH, and what is the speed for 7610, if there is processor, maybe just a chip who makes certain instructions, but they haven't mention the movie director

Anyway is it the best now for S60 6630 or 7610 is the still best?

So I got the 7610 (on a plan) ~ one mega pixel, 10 mins vid rec and mono mp3 = good enough for me

Screw The Lame 7610 its just a money spinner to keep market share between the release of the 6600 and 6630. 6630 will be better than 7610 in every way they are still developing the 6630 so more may come nokia are losing maket share so they will be stepping up a gear soon to keep them at number 1.

no it doesnt. it produces sweet mono sound.

well, 6630 surpass 7610 due to its symbian 8.0 os. (that is a hypothesis that IF it is backward compatible)

0.3 doesnt make a difference in the quality of photos much, but if im not wrong, the lens of 6630 is a better one which of cos leads to better clarity.

as i have mentioned, 3G doesnt bother me or make me wanna pay for a dollar more, cos we wun be using it for now. not for the one or two years to come. so its pretty crap in my country here. its jus good to have not essential at all.

yeah i agree 6630 is big (like a massive erection in ur pockets...hehehe) and it look abit weird. (but its like cute but ugly)

the basic video recorder (up to an hour) is great, with the +quality+ digital zoom up to 6X is really great.

the mmc hot swap is really good to have too! (if u r using a card reader to acess ur mmc that is)

not forgetting the 10MB internal memory is really useful.

like wat i mention, if u are aesthetic-driven person, 7610 is ur choice. but i will choose functions over aesthetic reasons but of cos not sx1 weird design.(note this statement is true only for handphone and NOT for girlfriends or watches,etc....:D)

All what you can see the 3G thing, that there are a lot of improvements ((you did not see))that will make me choose 6630 if Nokia stop to make phones and there is only one downgrade I think, that there is no IR but who will need this with all the features of 6630

6630 ain't that much bigger... even with its bulge it's only 7mm wider. 7mm is about the amount of space it takes to type "7mm." Height and thickness differences are hardly noticeable. For all the capabilities of the 6630 (including that stereo everyone treasures o so much hehe) is 7mm even that great a sacrifice? It's still a pretty damn small phone, all things considered.

Sonic and Spiderman work on the 7610. Many more to test. Will continue experimenting once I've bought a ATP 512MB RS-MMC

Well, I doubt that it has a faster CPU than all those phones before, but I don't know!

But I know that my SX1, with its 26 MHz faster CPU than all those Nokias, still runs SM-Movies smooth with higher kbps (up to 144 kbps)! So maybe it's the phone you're searching for?

RAM also affects the speed of all devices...

Games and other video related apps store its frame buffers in RAM. The more ram, the larger the frame buffers are stored and processed;) The faster the device goes :)

If I own a 3650, 7650 or N-Gage/QD ... upgrading to the 6630 is an extremely good idea
If I own a 3660 or 6600 ... upgrading to 6630 depends on price and the status of the 3660/6600 (damaged? disabled {SMS not working etc}?)
If I own a 7610 ... I would not upgrade to the 6630, but the phone after 6630 with similar features and minor improvements

I must admit the 1.3 megapixel on the 6630 seems impressive. The 3G on the 6630 should be decent (considering it has broadband speeds on the go), but I do not like the idea of needing the Video Stand to make a proper video call.

I also love my SX1 (beautiful bright blue keylight) and the Sendo X is nice too, but the 7610 is really pretty! And it can handle Themes and has the better Java 2.0 engine and of course the MP-Cam...

I really agree with you. I too left my Nokia 6600 and switched to 6230. But when i seen nokia 7610, i couldn't stop myself from buying it. And after using i think its one of the greatest phone available in the market. And i think there is no use of going for Nokia 6630. As it has got only the camera resolution increased by .3 MP I dont think its a wise idea to go for 6630. May be after a month or two, nokia will come up with another phone having 2MP Camera. This is their way to earn and nothing else....

So, you buy fones because of camera features and not the "telephony" features of the fone? I think Canon or Nikon will better satisfy your need. God damnit. Why doesn't anyone understand me?

Firstly, I like having the 'latest' gadget. Especially when it has a nice style and feel to it.

Secondly, I don't like carrying things in my pocket. I'd rather carry a 7610 in my right pocket, instead of a MD + Canon 3.2MP Digital Camera + 7250
Despite the fact that 7610 is only one megapixel and mono mp3s, it is "multi-functional" and used for more than one purpose.

It's not the "oh I bought a 7610 just for its megapixel"

I'd say "oh I bought a 7610 for its multiple features"

PS: 6630 is the 1.5st 3G phone Nokia's made (7600 is the 0.5st). I think I'll wait 3 or 4 phones after the 6630 for it to be reshaped and resized. Just like the process towards 7610 (eg 7650 -> 3650 -> 6600 -> 7610). 3G isn't fully developed yet. I don't like being beta testing :D

Genuine Black/Red Cover+Keypad: Already shipped via Registered Post. Left Hong Kong on 11th August. Keypad is Latin format, no Asian or Arabic strokes
N-Gage QD: Saved up AUD$250 now. QD's worth about AUD$300. Just another good $50 to save up, and another $15 for psotage.

6260 is not really better than the old 6600 (only radio and maybe stereo-mp3)! Still VGA-Cam! Better buy a Sendo X (best vga-cam-s60-smartphone)...

And I doubt that you can control it good with some keys being on the top and some on the botton flip!

standing back and looking at the big picture, i'd be inclined to get the 6630 as soon as it gets out. forget the looks (what's with the protruding-rounded bottom side?!), the specs alone hammers down almost any competition in its class.

but im not getting it just yet. being part of the working force (i know most of us are), my 6230 satisfies all my needs. nokia will keep on making new phones with even better specs or they run out of business. who knows, maybe they already made the ultimate phone... and they're just hiding it in area 51...

as i said before in another thread, the next time i buy a new phone is when it has 3.0+ MP camera, hot MMC, symbian (of course), everything else on my 6230, and a bigger screen (200k colors or whatever comes out at that time) and around the size and weight of my 6230.

Its normal. If you do the Quick Muvee, the Movie Director will choose 9 seconds of random shots and make it into a "Muvee"

If you want it the same length as your recorded video ...

hi people. this is my first post. being a 7610 owner and a phone freak i thought i'd say something about this symbian war.

the first time i saw 6630 like every new symbian phone i wowed to buy it. i even xchanged my 7610 for it. but then after using it for a day i got my 7610 back. heres why:
+likenokia au said it is bulky and no offence ugly.
+the gallery though a boon for some just got irritating with the phone arranging wvrything itself.
+the camera was no big deal just .3 megapixels. and afterall for real great quality you have to get the size down.
+3g as most people have said is still on its prelimnary stage specially here in india.

AND TO TOP IT ALL I FIND THE FEATURES OF 7610 GREAT AND TREMENDOUS ASTHETIC APPEAL.
