i think i will go after 6260, even got no 1.3MP, no EDGE UTMS for 3G , but i think it has a FM radio, Stereo MP3 and Push to Talk. Shd be nice n great fone.

stereo earpiece is hearing sound from both earpieces.

however, if hardware is mono, u get to hear only mono sound from both. unless speaker is stereo too, then u get to hear clear sound on 7610.

and ngage has mono speaker? maybe, but it definitely has stereo output in earpiece.

real nice of nokia to tell us of the earpiece being stereo and not whether the hardware is stereo or not.

well, u see this is a marketing strategy.

if the phone really comes with a stereo speaker, then the phone will be advertised big big as "STEREO phone". hiaz. dumb.

however it doesnt matter that much so long as the sound isnt crappy like 6600. the ringtone is goddam soft!!! (esp midi files...) the amr format is slightly better.

i remembered theres once i first bought my 6600 when its jus launched and (i din even have the slightest clue what symbian is all about...) i feel the ringtone is soft. i even went to nokia care to check whether its my speaker spoilt or something...hahahhaa

imranac, yeah, i agree with, jus lets wait and see for ourselves when it hits the shelves. i read it somewhere in mobileburn that's its mono speaker thats where i drew my conclusion. the my-symbian link that u posted not very reliable. the 2nd link u posted din talk anything about the stereo speaker.

Nokia would not sell stereo headset with 6630 unless it had stereo headset output. If it was mono, that'd be like selling stereo headset with 3650. It would just come out one ear. Seems to me like 6630 has stereo output, but it is only noticeable through a stereo headset, since it has only one speaker. But it's always playing stereo sound.

Only significant differences between 7610 and 6630: 3G, slight size differences (though overall volume is about the same) and symbian version. (Correct me if I forgot something, but thas about it)

i think for me, Stereo output for the headset is good enough for listening MP3 and Radio. I don't need it on fone speaker cos these may be make it not different cos of the fone speaker quality.

i believe 3650 is using 1 speaker for hearing(ear), and another speaker for Loud Speaker n Ringing tone. I learnt that SX1 using 1 speaker only for both purpose( Ringing n Speaker fone) but the sound quality on SX1 is sharper ( doesn't mean louder or better). May b Nokia or some other 3rd party Company may need to improve the quality of the speaker.

but yeah, I think it'll play stereo, you just won't be able to tell its stereo unless you use the headset (since stereo requires two speakers, usually a good distance apart, to notice the left/right effects). I'm also guessing sound quality will finally match that of a dedicated mp3 player using headset, but the loudspeaker probably won't sound much better than 7610 or n-gage, since all of them are like playing music through a headset with the volume turned all the way up (small speaker + big sounds = bad quality)

Stereo loudspeakers placed 2cm apart from each other would create absolutely no stereo effect. That's why they will never put any.
Give it a try with a laptop. Play music in stereo, and then change to mono. You won't even notice the difference apart if you're really placed in front of the PC.

It's sure 6230 will have stereo output, as it is delivered with stereo headset. If the output was mono, they wouldn't delivered expensive useless stereo headset.

I have the same opinion. That's why I'm not complaining about the Mono Speaker on my 7610. However ... I am complaining about not being able to afford a ATP 512MB RS-MMC to fit more songs at the moment :D

6600 and 7610 have Mono-Loudspeaker and Mono Output for the Headset! 6630 will have Mono-Loudspeaker but STEREO-Output for the Headset! Same with Ngage, 6620 and Siemens SX1!

If you want Stereo Output AND STEREO-LOUDSPEAKER get yourself a Sendo X - it's the only S60-Cellphone that has Stereo Loudspeakers! ;-)

And the MP3-Headset Quality of 6600 and 7610 is pretty poor compared with my SX1. That phone is even better than most real MP3-Players!

That is where u r WRONG! I have a friend who is working in a workshop as electrical techincian! He uses his 7250 as a mobile radio with the speaker blasting for accompany with almost v day work! Anyone of us will welcome if 6630 comes the stereo speaker,u may need it anyway! Handphone more mobile than discman and HiFi set,right?

for what it's worth, kilrah, i agree with you. stereo speakers placed 2 cm apart is just...well... useless. i still have my 5510 and it holds all the mp3's and i listen to it stereo - with my studio headphones. memories...

now, i've got a 6230. sweet, sweet, sweet. and it is stereo (even the loudspeaker). it is next to impossible not to hear my mp3 ringtone when someone calls me. it just sucks that it's not symbian. really wanted goboy in my phone. then again, i got a gba so...

i also read some hoaxes about a 6230i... bigger screen, 1.3MP camera...etc... i suppose this is stereo too... if it ever comes out...

anywho, the day i can find a nokia phone with a 16Million color screen; as tall as a 6600, a 3MP camera, a hot MMC slot, symbian and as small as my 6230 is also the day i can play FF7 on a mobile phone... we can always dream...

yes, but thats when its called MONO. if stereo comes out of one speakers its mono. stereo sound will always be merged when playing it on a mono device.

So... unless your phone hast 2 separate speakers... it will always sound mono...

Well, maybe you don't! I s.t. hear music with my friends via loudspeaker or use the radio in the open-air baths (without earphones). But I don't mind if the loudspeaker is mono or stereo because the quality would be nevertheless bad und you would actually hear no real difference...

Mono sound can also be heard on two or more (even hundreds of) speakers...

Mono output can be aquired if and only if the device output's only one channel on any number of speakers...

While stereo can be aquired if the output of the device has two channels on two different speakers...

Two channels merged into one speaker will result to mono sound.

If there are more than two speakers and different channels are playing through it then that's what we call surround sound!!! ;)
