n-gage memory and os

Is there any possible way of formatting the n-gage memory and then reinstalling the symbian os and apps etc?

The MP3 decoder on my n-gage keeps crashing and thus crashing any app that was using it. Can the decoder be replaced? If I can't fix the mp3 decoder I might have to consider the above extreme action.

Has anyone got any ideas?

Start the phone in a normal manner. Type *#7370#, the phone will reinstall itself. Data on the mmc is not affected. Remember to backup yoor contacts and sms's.

I have problem ,lastnight after finish playing game with my ngage n this morning l found "start up faild contact retailer" than I try to format user area but still doesn't help,can any body help me

mine did that once but for me it wasnt my fone but my sim had become corrupt, you might check the phone with another sim card.

if ur phone still works fine, u can ignore that error.

if it doesnt start up, read the faq for phone not starting up in symbians faqs section

simply shut down the phone take out your sim and your MMC reinsert both and power On the n-gage. it should work just fine. for me it worked.

m8 had start up prob on his en we took back to the shop en they tried to tell us that we had to go to nokia but we told him oh no we dont m8 your gonna change this now for one of them off the shelf en you can sort it out with nokia after all he was quick enough to take me m8`s money. anyway after that he said 1 min then came back with brand new one cheers ey :lol: sorted!
