I want to use a 3G simcard from the 3G-operator Three in my 7610. When I start it up it connects to Vodafone to roam and then it loses reception for a second and I get the message "sim update". After that i get the reception again and everything seems to be working ok until I move to another area and it connects to another base. Then I get the message "Sim not allowed". I´ve heard that the Three 3G-card would work if you can stop the sim update-function. Anyone who can help me with this?

you wll need to go into Network selection, set it to manual and then choose 3's network as the one you want..then it should not switch back to vodafone...if the function is not available then the phone needs reflashing to allow this option again

Ok, thank you but it´s vodafone I want to use. So the only way to stop thew simupdate is to reflash the phone? How is that possible?

on the 7600 on 3 was "customised" to stop the network being changed manually, if the software was reflashed with a full original version then this option is restored (and your phone is unlocked at the same time )
I assume 3 have done this again for this model
there are a few people/shops around that do this...ask in the sales/wants section of the forum...there is one in Tottenham court road in London that does this...but you may live in Scotland !!
