Hi all,

Sorry if this is an old topic, I didn't find anything that exactly matched my issue...

I was happily using my 3360 for about 1 year and then I stopped using it 6 months ago because the contract expired with the service provider. Today I wanted to activate it as a pay-as-you-go type plan, so I took it out, dusted it off, and tried to charge it.

Well when I plug it in to the charger, all that happens is a little cursor blinks on and off every couple of seconds in the upper left hand corner of the LCD screen. The whole screen actually seems to blink slightly when this happens.

I do not get the normal charging bar on the left as I would expect.

What has happened to my phone? Should it not still work? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Your battery has been dead for a while.

Two things you can try:

leave it on the charger 3 hours and hope the battery comes back to life.

Try borrowing a battery out of another 3360, 3390 or 3595 etc. for just 5 minutes. Any BMC-2, BMC-3, BLC-3 and -2 will do.
plug in the charger
If it charges it's your battery.

If it does not charge with a known good battery, something bad happened to your phone while you were not using it.

Good luck

So if another battery does work then how can I revive my existing battery? I read somewhere else someone suggested charging a really dead battery "manually", but how do you do that? Like how do you charge it without having it in the phone itself? I will try the three hours on the charger tonight and hope it suddenly comes back to life. Thanks for your help btw,

SoT
