Hey, my mate recently won a 6600 in a bet only to find the guy had changed the lock code. As the guy was a bit of an idiot he refused to tell my mate what the new code was, so I said I'd probably be able to format the phone and reset it to factory settings, So I did a hard format (3 button kind with battery fully charged) got the "formatting" screen and then the reset, and again the "lock code" screen appeared so i entered "12345" but it said code error, so I tried "0000" and "1111" and anything else I could think of but still nothing, I've formatted the phone about 4 times now and still nothing. The only thing I could think to do was suggest he take it to the Nokia shop and ask them to sort it, but now my mates worried the other guy will report it lost, even though he "promised" he won't, and he'll get grief when he takes it in.

I've searched the forums (on here and other sites) but can't find any solution, they all seem to say that the hard format function will erase any settings and restore it to a code of "12345" which for some reason isn't working.
Any ideas how to sort this, or as to why the format isn't restoring settings, would be much appreciated.

Cheers

(Ps i tried it with/without sim and mmc)

hi, tis might not work, but try this:

Cheers for the swift reply, don't think I'll have any luck with that program though as I can't activate the infa-red on the 6600. I aint got the cable needed to flash it either, and he aint that much of a mate that I'm gonna purchase one (unless he ends up giving up on it and giving me the phone!).
I'll tell him to just try the Nokia shop, cheers for your help anyway mate.
