6600 to 7610 backup issue!!!

Hello

I have been searching the net for a week looking for someone that had the same issue as mine but with no luck. I was jetsking last month when I heard my phone ring in the jet ski compartment, when I picked the Nokia 6600 up it dropped into the water. The next silly thing I did was when I dived in to get it out it was still working to my amazement but none of the keys where functioning, so I decided to leave it on and put it back in compartment and within ten minutes it was destroyed. I went to the Nokia service centre to try to fix it they told me to F-OFF in a kind way, and was un-repairable.

I have an existing backup of my contacts for my Nokia 6600 on the PC my question is

How do i restore my contacts to my new Nokia 7610?

i need to know the same, i got my ngage backup.arc but i need to get it on my 7610

If PC suite backs up ur contacts in Outlook like mine does, then when you install the PC suite for 7610 and sync the phone and comp, it should take all your outlook contacts and put them on 7610 automatically. This should work, unless of course your PC suite doesn't back them up into outlook. I have 3650, do I don't know much about 6600 or 7610.

can u insert the rs-mmc+extension on a 6600/n-gage and copy the phone's backup?if u still have 6600... ;)

I'm not sure if this helps, but I found this file on my 7610 ...

C:\system\Data\Contacts.cdb

Do you have a CDB file or a ARC file?

If its an ARC file, place it in E:\Backup\Backup.arc

Not sure that you can simply copy/paste the .cdb file, couse there are others dll..
and for how concern putting 7610/6600's backup in a n-gage on another symbian 6.1, well DON'T DO IT..the fon will install the .arc file and then it will try to restart but without success..:your fon is gone!! :( :cry: ...
