Memory Card disappear-no files

Pls help this is the second time the following has happenned. I take some photos and they are saved to the memory card. When i go to the gallery and move to the memory card it just says no files. when exiting an error message called 'app closed media gallery' or sumthing like that.
Pls tell me i dont have to format my memory card again-any ideas why this is happening!

If u have a memory card reader or a file manager installed on your "phone memory", then explore your memory card and see if you have the following folders on the E: (memory card)
Images
nokia
Others
Sounds
System
Videos
If not then your images wont save any where as the phone stores them in the images folder...no folder, no where to save
this happened with my mates card, he bought it from vodafone and there were no folders on it so when i went to install something, it never appeared

so hopefully that will work

fexplorer can see all the files but when try to open images it closes down!

if the folders and files are all there then its a phone problem not a memory card problem. can you view them on the phone memory? as in transfer them to the phone and view them that way?
