Gizmondo Release date and Games information

The world has been waiting. Soon thousands of you will be rewarded. The launch date for Gizmondo is set...

Gizmondo will be launched on October 29. The launch starts in the UK and will then be extended in 2005 worldwide. After the UK first stage, the prioritised markets are Europe and North America as well as Australia and New Zealand.

So far 9 games have been officially announced to date, with 11 games by launch, and 34 by xmas!

Looks interesting, not sure how well it'll fare when the psp and dx arrive though. Why haven't they made it a phone? It already needs a sim card, has speakers and presumably a mic doesn't cost much.

The screenshots for Extreme Stuntcar look bloody nice though.

I just figured it would be pointless to be connected to a network and only be able to use it to send MMS & SMS. It has the ability to be a phone, maybe they took that feature off to save critisim cause you'd look like a knob using it as a phone. Someone once said the N-Gage would have done better if it was just a gaming device & not a phone.
