i think there is no trasparent logo...all logos are in bmp format and you could not make a bmp file with transparancy, this could only be done with gif's but whenever u make it as an operator logo it automatically converts to bmp's.

i wonder how the operators can display their logos without the rectangular background???

I think it is possible to have transparent bmps by using a certain shade of grey. This is then changed to transparent on the device. I haven't worked out exactly how to do it, but im sure in the past I have come accross bitmaps with transparent regions.

I am not familiar with 6600,but u can try this out .just get OXYGEN PHONE MANAGER FOR SYMBIAN (opm) registered version from where u can get it .then create an gif image of 1 x 1 pixel (backgruond color must be transperent) in photoshop and then transfer this image to your photo gallery using OXYGEN PHONE MANAGER .Now goto Gallery Manager in OXYGEN PHONE MANAGER and see for that gif file .when u get it just select it and right click on it and set it as operator logo ,your problem will get solved. sorry to say because i had not tried this on 6600 but it works with my 6610.

Cant you just take a 1x1 image and make it like some off color, and then load it to the phone and set as op logo in FExplorer.

I dont think its going to stretch a 1x1 gif. It should basically be clear all except a 1x1 spot in the middle. That might get you there.

Why would you have to load Oxygen phone manager for this?

Using a transparent gif doesn't work. It must be because it converts the gif to a bmp and bmp doesn't support transparency so it just makes it a big white block.

Making an off colour one wouldn't work either because i'm presuming all the folk that really want a transparent logo are the 6600 users.

Y wouldnt an off color 1x1 pixel work?

The object there being... You wont get a transparent gif, but the smallness of the screen and the smallness of the 1x1 pixel might be enough to get by.

I am assuming this is for the use of some theme that you want to see the head of a person or something and the oplogo is blocking it.

All of the oplogo programs automatically reformat any image you choose to a 97x25 bmp because thats what an oplogo is on s60. Your 1x1 off colour one would be a big off colour block.
