Well yesterday, one of my friend who is 5000 miles away from me, asked me to share some ringtones with her, and i decided to send thru email, but she is not having any kinda device to transfer the midis to her Nokia 6610i

Then i decided to go for MMS service, and i thot i would be sending the sound clip thru that, but when i tried inserting midi it jus din show me midi's in the message composer and I tried our the Best Seleq, and tried sending via multimedia, it says, unknown format, like unable to insert the object..

Now Say geeks, what shall I do??? Need an urgent and decent Help? Please !!!

try an app called mms_it?

It says "Unknown format" because Nokia doesn't allow you to send MIDI polyphonic ringtones via MMS.

If you send it using ZipMan or something (a compression utility), the person with the Nokia 6610i wouldn't be able to receive it properly ... because he/she only has a Series 40 phone (which can't install FExplorer/SeleQ!)

I presume your's is Symbian (from using SeleQ) :D

Hope that clarifies a few things ...

i think u may try "Ringtone Studio". Install this app allow u to edit ringtone and there is a option to send it as mms, give it a try,

It wont work with ringtone studio. I tried. You can sand it but if mobile that recived messege doesnt have that prog it wont be able to play it!

i dont think there is a way to send midis yet (from a nokia) i think a 6620 can do it, but i tried MMS_it! with my ngage and tried to send a midi to an E700, i didnt work, its says unknown format, but from my T610 i sent an mms with a midi attched to an E700 and it worked! i have tried sending a midi from my 7610 via mms, but the SHITTY fone dun allow it!

SOMEONE PLEASEEEE CRACK THIS PROTCECTION!!!!!! ARRRGGGHHHHHH!!!!!!!

I've sent quite a few mids via mms from my 6600 to series 40's using mms it.

what bout to s60? and samsungs? erricsons?

Mms it can send anything as long as it's small enough to be sent by mms. I've sent .jar, .rar, .txt, .rm and .zip files to my mates s60, i'm pretty sure it'll be the same with samsungs etc.

The English version is either 1.3 or 1.03

You rick momagic, you rock, i have downloaded the software in my 3650 now what left is few tries cause i tried sending that once, it says, wrong access point but that could be an error from my side, i will rectify it, thanx a ton, i would let u kknow when my friend hears her first ringing tone.. :lol:

Well, I am sorry Guys, it is still not working,i mean, it gives me the same error of preffered multimedia access point, i have deleted them all and saved the setting from new end, but no, and also the MMS_IT application has no setting insatalled in it for specifying a default access point for sending MMS and saw it through seleq, it is not showing me anything which i can edit..

Now what do I do?? :o :eek:

have u made sure the file names has no special characters and no spaces? read the help in the options menu.

This exactly appears when i tried sending a mid file thru mms_it, even i tried sending an image, the error is the same, now what to DO?? I really am looking to do this, cause now this has become a challenge for me, you know ;)

i think now we have to do a tribal rain dance around your fone to make it work, and pray to god aswell.

with ericssons you can send midis, so i someone could import the programming of that (or understand the way a midi is attached) to nokia maybe it could work? just chatting shit i think :crazy:

i would REALLY like to see me sending a midi via MMS to another fone

I have installed MMS_it in my 7610 and had tried sending .mid and .sis files And my files end up in the outbox saying sending fail.....
