Hi,
I'm having problem unlocking two old Nokias, a 5130 and 5146.
I put in both the codes, both phones are say 'Sim not restricted', but when I put my O2 sim in, I can't get a network. Under 'Settings' and 'Network Selection', both phones are still only showing 1-2-1 and Orange. Help please, as I don't know what to do next.
Thanks

Then Nokia 5130/5146 (same phone) only work on the GSM 1800. UK Orange & 1-2-1 (T-Mobile) use that network.
O2 & Vodafone used GSM 850/900 which the 5130 does not work with.

So you can't unlock them, never mind why not try putting a personalised flash on them instead.

you CAN unlock them, but they will only work on GSM 1800 (Single band).

Hi,

Ur question is a bit unclear.

With the use of codes, U can even unlock without any cable.

But when U use a flasher cable to insert new flash data, I suggest U always need to have a datacable too.

Not for the locks, but for the Flash Authorisation ID (FAID) nr. U have to set.
