I'd probably try deleting the whole mail folder with a file explorer and move the settings back and forward between phone and mmc mem, dunno if it'll work though.

Here's how she can save her contacts. Find a program called avec backup and send it to her, it's small enough to be sent by mms if she doesn't have a pc/is a typical bird. The program is easy to use, just connect to it, it'll send the contacts to a remote server. Then format the phone, reinstall avec and download them back to the phone.

well i moved all messages to the mmc then removed the mmc still no luck, only means of connectivity is my memory card reader she is borrowing, just found out she has lost her pcsuite cdrom so i gotta download that, ill just have to get my hands on the thing and wipe it clean

regarding backing up the contacts, heres a better and easier method.

find the contacts.cdb file, its in data folder.

rename the data folder, to something else, like data1

then copy and paste the contacts .cdb to e:, rename data1 folder back to data.

then try moving ur messages to mmc, then format phone mem, then move messages back to phone mem, then finally, rename the data folder to data1 again, then cut and paste ur contacts.cdb file u copied to mmc, back to data1 folder, then rename back to data. now restart phone.

or if you go into the options in contacts, you can copy all contacts from phone to the sim card. after formating you can copy them back.
only problem is if you have additiional date per contact, fax/2 phone no/email, you will lose all that stuff.

i had the same problem a few months back, and couldent recieve any sms messages and had to format the phone as a last resort

additional info..and caution when handling the contacts.cdb file, u could not transfer it from one phone to another phone model..i.e. contacts.cdb of 6600 could not be used on ngage.

i previously done this and it really f*cked up my phone, have to flash it just for it to be fixed.
