Interesting news

"Nokia has confirmed it will be releasing mobile phones with hard drives in 2005 and 2006, in a bid to make their phones more attractive as a competitor to music devices such as the iPod. Samsung has already introduced a phone with internal hard drive in Korea, and will no doubt follow eventually for GSM.

Nokia has also confirmed that it will release more than 20 phones with at least 1 megapixel resolution next year to regain market share lost to companies such as Sony Ericsson and Samsung, both famous for their camera phones."

Megapixel camera phones with hard drives and high-quality mp3 players. Meh, I don't want moving parts in my phone, I'll stick with solid-state flash. The more people buy it the cheaper it gets.

My mate and I predicted this months ago when Nokia signed up a licence agreement to use sd (you can get sd sized hd's), glad to see it's happening sooner rather than later.

HAving already got an iPod, I would not buy one. Also, I beat my phone up a lot more than my iPod, and I too would be concerned over all that shaking and dropping of something with moving parts. I also find that there is not much need for more storage than is currently available, but thats because I have a separate mp3 player I guess. Once we have 5G memory cards they will probably ditch HDs altogether and just have hotswap memory card slots.
