Ideally, this post could be turned into a sticky one...

I have this extreMEmory 128MB MMC on my n-gage and it works just fine (though it is seen as having only 122MB using the memory card menu on the phone...)

I bought that card almost an year ago when MMCs were far more expensive than now... I remember I tried a 256MB one at the store, same brand, (extreMEmory) and it didn't work - the ngage simply did not recognize it.

Now a friend's birthday is coming and I'd like to buy him an MMC... but since prices are so low now, I could get myself a 256MB and give him my 128MB one! LOL!!! it's a WIN-WIN situation ;)

Nevertheless, since I tried that non-working 256MB one, I don't know whether the fact that the MMC wasn't recognized is, or is not, somehow related to my ngage's firmware version instead of its brand...

That's why I'm asking: what size are your MMCs, and what is your firmware version? (you can access it by typing *#0000#)?

You should enter it like that:

MMC size: 128MB
Brand: extreMEmory
V 3.30
28-08-2003
NEM-4

Thankx!

I don't think it would work with any RS-MMC

What makes you say that? Rs-mmcs are designed to be backward compatible so there's a good chance that in a couple of years, once rsmmcs are as cheap as mmcs the mmcs will disappear. My mate regularly uses his 7610s 128Mb rs-mmc in his 6600 since the 7610 doesn't have an open bluetooth serial port.

I have v4.03 with a 256, but haveing apps problem not all, and cannot send files via bluetooth.

I have a Mobymem, and on mobymem site they do say that the Rs-mmc will work in the ngage...

sorry.... I can't understand ur first sentence... but the bluetooth problem shouldn't be related to ur MMC.

i think ATOOLBOX means NOKIA may add copyright protection in firmware V4.03 (so you can't send file via B.T.)
the biggest difference between V3.30 and V4.03 i thought...

by the way
the issue about RS-MMC on N-GAGE
i confirm that RS-MMC can work perfectly with N-GAGE even QD
thanks for all of your answers and help!!
