Since I got my 6630 i've tried a load of apps and few games and they all seem to work exactly the same (maybe some menus open quicker but thats all) that was until I tried Killer Virus.
Everyone worth their salt will remember this game as the first to use the camera (like Mosquitoes and Monster Hunt) and they'll probably also remember that it was realy really hard, mostly due to the crosshairs moving jerkily. It turns out that if there's enough processor power available the game runs smooth as hell and in turn is much easier and loads loads more fun, I recommend anyone with a 6630 to give it another shot as it feels like a different game.

I have heard 6630 is protected very firmly by NOKIA

real_inn - Protected? in what way? I've installed loads of guff already, some of it didn't work but that's only due to the new os not any protection.

momagic - If you can afford it then get it. The benchmark tests show it's capable of loads more so as soon as a developer takes advantage of it we should see some great apps. Everything runs a little bit faster like menus, taking pics, gallery, etc and looks a bit better eg the icons are more detailed the thumbnails are bigger and displayed better. If you are in an area that supports 3g there's also the video calling (which is little more than a gimmick but it's fun) and the high speed downloads which is handy for browsing the web.
The other thing that's improved is the look and feel of it. The 7610 is nice but it always reminded me of the 7250 which was a horrid phone and although the buttons are easy to get used to I still never liked the look or feel of them also my mate's are both having problems with their buttons sticking and not working already. The 6630 though is the best laid out symbian so far, the buttons are perfectly sized and spaced so that whether your using one or two hands it still sits comfortably in your hands and the buttons feel expensive (if you know what I mean), the joystick is also comfortable and perfect for games. Although it has a similar sized footprint to the 6600 it's as thin as a 7610 (or close anyway) and therefor feels as small.
The biggest difference is the camera but I won't go into detail about that here as i'm planning a full 6600/7610/6630 comparsion in the pics section but suffice to say, it humps it.
As for the cons, um, i'm struggling here, oh yeah, I seems to have trouble with certain types of wav file, mono ones if my sucpicions are correct but the sound on stereo wavs and mp3s is excellent. Maybe another con would be that I only got a 32Mb card with mine and you can't buy bigger ones at the moment but that will change very soon.
As you can probably tell I love this phone, it's by far the best phone nokia have ever made and looking at what's projected (aside from the 7710 which has promise) it looks to be the best phone they will have on offer for a good six months, maybe even a year.

Hi Yuppo- Just want to ask is the mp3 quality is better or equal if compared with n-gage, with and without headset? because i'm planning to buy 6630 also, but still have no confirmation about the quality of the mp3 player if compared with n-gage :???: i just affraid later on after i bought it, my n-gage still better in the sound quality :-P thanks a lot before bro, in my country indonesia, it cost me about 700$ to bought it  just wondering how much you spend to get the 6630?

I'd say it was slighty quieter than an ngage with the phone speaker but no less quality and the same if not better through the headphones, the pop port headphones that came with mine are rather nice too.

Another plus point is the hot swap, I knew it would be handy but I never realised just how handy it was, going back to taking the battery out would be a shitemare.

Oh yeah and when you change to offline mode you don't have to restart like on the ngage, it just does it the same as changing to silent or whatever :-D
Don't flush your 6600, I'm going to put mine on a wrist strap and use it to hit peasants.

Im very impressed with the phone, shame its being a bitch to unlock tho

i have the 6630, locked to voda uk, and ill agree its amazing, nice to use, quick menus, stunning screen quality etc etc..

BUT, it only accepts RS-MMC cards that run at 1.8v, (to save battery power according to nokia) and to this day ive not been able to find any of these anywhere!! rumor has it they arent even in manufacture yet, the only place you can get them is from nokia for a ridiculous price.. and as the phone only came bundled with a 32meg card im a bit screwed for storing all the mp3s n movies i was planning on using.

Anyone know of a place i could find a 1.8v card? (bearing in mind im in the UK). or anyone else had any experience with this?

regrards.

I'm awaiting deliverly of a 256Mb card from a seller on Ebay, they claim it works but some folk (including myself) have doubts. When it arrives I'll let everyone know if it works or not, should be here on Monday.

you guys only got a 32mb rs-dv-mmc with it? thats weird bcoz i got a 64mb one? its on t-mobile uk waiting for the unlock code, but i have to agree it is a brilliant fone, dd u guys know you dont have to have a sim card in at all for the offline mode to work? you know how on other symbian fones you needed a sim card in 2 activate the offline mode, well with this if ther is no sim card it starts up in offline a cool feature,

yeh i got the stand, would have gone for the 64meg card tho had i been given the choice.

dont get 3g anywhere really at the mo, and im sure if i did id never actually use it for video calls, specially not at home - perhaps il take a trip up to london for the day in a bit...

near broadband speed in the palm of your hand is exciting though i must admit, still remember laughing at those nokia adverts:

' one day youll be able to watch steaming video in tha palm of your hand'.. how wrong was i...

cards at expansys? cheers yuppo, i must take a look..

phones are great.

... anyone want to buy a video call stand for 6630!!? :-D
