hey guys do some of you experience the same problem? When profimail starts to download the mail it crashes big time. It gives a blue screen with the error description and then it rebootes my 6600 (FW 4.09) weird isn't it? Is there someone who can fix this or gets the same error?? cause I would really like to continue to use the program. It really is better than the build in email client.
thnx and bye

Yeah! It did the same thing on my QD with firmware 4.0. So i just trashed it. I probably didn't need it anyway.

Hey,
I've heard of this before. Did you by any chance just install a newer version, overwriting/upgrading the previous install?
If so sometimes this cause's a problem. Remove all traces of ProfiMail and re-install again from fresh, this should sort your problem.
I am using the latest V1.35 with no hassle.

No! I never used ProfiMail b4. I only wanted 2 try it out, because i read that it was needed 2 work with ProfiExplorer.

Hey,
It might be an issue on the QD then, but on my 6600 firmware V5.27.1 it works well and is a brilliant app to check email on the move.
Takes a little setting up but is easy to use there after.

hi cooper
I've got the same problem - but when i was running version 1.02 everything worked fine. Now since I tried to deploy 1.34/5/6 the program blue screens with fatal exception error and reboots. Uninstalling the program and going back to 1.02 does not resolve the problem. I suspect that the later versions of the software must have modified an external portion of the system that hasn't reverted back to previous settings.
My firmware is 4.09.1 like yours, and as I said before, 1.02 worked fine on my phone.

Ok ladies and gents....
I've done a bit of reverse engineering and found the solution to the problem. A sleazy way of copy-protection is to create some additional files during run-time and then check for their presence on the next run. The only problem is that this wasn't done too well between software version changes - with the effect that the program experienced a buffer overflow and threw the whole phone into kernel panic. The only way to solve the problem is to delete ALL of the files that were created at run-time.
Here is the solution for anyone who's experiencing problems with bluescreens on Profimail.....
1) Uninstall any version of Profimail on your phone
2) Use a good file explorer (seleq, system explorer, efilexplorer etc) and run it
3) Delete any of the following files if present on your system:
c:\system\data\gsm_cell.inf
c:\system\data\audiofmt.bix
c:\system\data\multihome.dat
c:\system\data\trackftp.idx
I've done the above successfully and now Profimail runs like a breeze on my 6600 (4.09.1). Please let me know about your success/fail stories.
Nice day to all.

wow you the man YOU THE MAN really. Now the proggie can download the mail the correct way without the annoying blue panic screen. thnx you very much
JK, tried your method several times, would not work. Keep getting panic page (Program closed! Profimail User 44) when I add my first account, and (Profimail KERN-EXEC 3) when I try to register.
Any other files I need to delete? Help. Phone is Nokia 6600, firmware v. 5.27. Profimail v. 1.36.
